Happy Friday! That week flew by, didn't it?! I had a tinge of guilt yesterday as I drank my Diet Coke with breakfast and reading the guest post on Health for the Whole Self...about how to ditch the diet-soda drinking. Guess the irony gods were having fun with that one... I also had a burrito lady burrito with Italian sausage...SO GOOD! If you haven't noticed, I really love these burritos. They're super flavorful with awesome salsa and super soft tortillas. What's not to love? Since ... continue reading...
Fences
It makes me really sad to think that both of my puppies lived behind fences like this at some point in their lives. It also makes me sad to think of the fences that I built up around MY life with my disordered eating. If you have built up fences in your life, I would challenge you to break them down and live...you only have one shot, give it everything you have! NO MORE FENCES! ... continue reading...
Think Healthy
Good morning everyone! I'm so glad it's almost Friday...it's kind of hard taking a break in the middle of the week and then going back to work! Yesterday I took the day off to spend with my mom and dad the last day they were in town. We started the day off by letting the dogs walk us taking the dogs on a walk (thanks, by the way, for your great tips!) and wearing them out. We all got ready for the day, and then I had a wonderful CARROT breakfast: I was craving veggies, but we'll get to that ... continue reading...

CPK All the Way
I think we all know how much I love pizza. I have not made that, nor my affinity for mac 'n' cheese, a secret on this blog. We will address that soon, but first we have another favorite: chocolate. In case you haven't noticed, I eat an awful lot of breakfasts that feature chocolate in them, and this is no exception. I also like to think that this on is "healthy" because it's vegan as well! 1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice) 1 frozen banana 1.5 Tbsp cocoa powder 1 Tbsp peanut ... continue reading...
Summer Sunshine
I love the summer sun, and never really realize how much it's missed until winter. You tell me: summer lover or winter lover? ... continue reading...
Vows
Hello there! How was Monday for ya? I know mine was probably one of the better Monday's I've ever had :) I made sure to start it off right with an almond milk, banana, cocoa, and peanut butter smoothie :) Work chugged right along, and before I knew it, it was time for lunch! I made something special yesterday...Jenna's Lentil Dahl! This was my first time making Indian food, and I think I am now in love. Nate, however, is not in love with the smell in the house. I think he will have to ... continue reading...
Red Brick
I wish I could accurately, verbally express how much I love this sight: For whatever reason (which, I'm sure, has to be a good one) Colorado does not share Texas' affinity for houses made of brick. I really miss that! ... continue reading...
Fixin' To
Good morning guys!!! How was your weekend? Mine was so much fun, but way too short as always. Why can't we all have a 4-day workweek? :) Yesterday's breakfast was on the road from Starbucks, but when I got home I decided to make these mini pizzas out of a sandwich thin, a little alfredo sauce, a lot of frozen spinach, and topped with mozzarella and parmesan: Honestly they were just OK...I didn't toast the thins first, which would have prevented them from getting soggy like they did. ... continue reading...
Like a Kid in a Candy Store
LITERALLY! But we'll get to that in a second...it's been quite the weekend! Friday the only meal I ended up taking a picture of was my lunch. It was a turkey sandwich with lettuce covered in about 1 Tbsp of Chipotle Ranch and some chips: Now, here's how you guys should know that I love ya: I am posting the before and after pictures of my hair-doing from yesterday. The thing is the "before" part is about 20 minutes after I rolled out of bed. If that doesn't say LOVE I don't know what ... continue reading...
Evergreen
I love evergreens, with the exception of that time that my parents forced me to help pull out 12 cedar bushes from our front yard. Oh, and my sister? She was kind enough to make us lemonade...if making lemonade really means watching Nickelodeon in the perfectly air-conditioned house. Otherwise, I love evergreens. There's nothing better to me than smelling the beautiful pines in the dead heat of the summer. You should probably drive to the mountains just for that :) ... continue reading...
What Day Is It?
TGIF right? Is it just me, or does it seem like the weeks that are shorter feel infinitely longer? And I always, ALWAYS forget what day it is! Yesterday morning I had a burrito lady burrito with Italian sausage in lieu of breakfast sausage...I was a little scared, but it was amazing! I really liked the fennel seed in there! With hot, hot salsa I was a happy girl :) And treat week this week was my first (and definitely not my last) attempt at Congo Bars! I used Bakerella's recipe and let's ... continue reading...
