Ending the Way It Started

Hey guys!  It’s finally Monday afternoon (woohoo!)  It’s such a gorgeous day here today; you would never have guessed that it was cold and snowy last night and this morning!  In fact, I’m so happy with the weather today that I decided to do one of several giveaways I have planned for y’all 🙂

Lunch was a black bean burger on a sandwich thin with provolone, a pile of carrots, and a Breakstone’s Cottage Double:

I love my carrots:

And I know it’s probably better for me to just do regular cottage cheese and homemade jam, but you gotta love the convenience of it together!

And The Burg:

Tres yummy.  I took a walk down to Target (maybe 3/4 of a mile from the office?) and took it slow, and guess what?!  No knee pain!  I’m hoping taking the weekend off was a good thing and maybe it’s gone forever 🙂  I celebrated with the rest of my Green(ish) Monster from this morning that I froze:

It was just so-so.  I definitely prefer mine freshly blended, but I still felt good about eating this as a snack!  And see?  I’m ending my work day the way it started!

So, on to the fun part 🙂  About a week or so ago, the lovely Taylor from the Wholesome Foods Bakery contacted me asking if I’d like to try out some of their FoodBars and Crunch.  I said of course, and she also offered to send a second sampler as a giveaway prize AND is offering you guys a 15% discount code!  Look at this crazy-amazing assortment of gluten-free and dairy-free bars:

Such a gorgeous package!

Here they are, all layed out!  I dove right into the Tropical Nut Bar, and WOW! The flavor was fantastic 🙂  Very light and crunchy with hints of coconut and tartness from the cranberries and apricots.  Although I don’t require a gluten- or dairy-free lifestyle, I would eat these any day!

Below each bar I’ve listed the descriptions and ingredients from their site.  You should also check out the “About Us” section to learn more about Anne and Taylor, who are the mother-daughter team behind Wholesome Foods Bakery!

  2. Tweet “I want to win some face-rocking Wholesome Foods bars from @heathersdish” and let me know you tweeted;
  3. Blog about this giveaway on your own blog, then let me know in the comments with a linkback to your post!

The contest will be open until Thursday (3/18) at 5pm Mountain Standard Time, at which point I’ll announce the winner in celebration of my 100th post on Heather’s Dish! This is open to all US and Canadian residents, and I’ll pick the winner using a random integer picker thing (I obviously like using the technical term).  If you want to get your own supply of Wholesome Foods items, just head on over there right now and use the discount code ‘HeathersDish15’.  Good luck!
