First Love

There's nothing more beautiful sometimes than a volleyball net.  All of the consistent squares, the symmetry, and the fact that all I want to do is hurt someone on the other side of the net with the ball.  Yep, you read that right.  Fun fact:  I'm competitive...scary competitive. What about you?  What's your instinct in sports?  Play for fun, play to win, or play to kill? I'm gonna go with #3 on this one...told ya :) ... continue reading...

BagelMania

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I adore bread.  And I don't discriminate...I love all kinds.  Tortillas, French, Italian, focaccia, ciabatta, whole wheat, bagels, sourdough...LOVE! So it should really be no surprise that I ate 2.5 bagels yesterday.  OOPS :) First up, a blueberry bagel with mango peach cream cheese: See, what had happened was our boss brought us all bagels because she's sweet like that.  But it turns out that I just can't stop after one!  Lunch was a simple ham ... continue reading...

Nary a Vegetable

Nary a vegetable passed my lips today. Well, maybe one.  Maybe.  Let's see...for starters there was breakfast. How could you resist this face? You can't...that is, unless you have an egg, ham, and hot sauce sandwich to eat.  Then there's really no face that matters more than the one you're stuffing this into: As I write this I'm sad because I'm just now realizing that I took the ham to work and left it...which means no breakfast sandwich for Wednesday! :(  Such is life!  Lunch was a Flatout ... continue reading...

Signs of Summer

You always know it's summer when someone pulls out a beach ball. How could you say no to fun with all of that color?  Beach balls are a quintessential sign of summer.  And that's the way the chocolate chip cookie crumbles. What's a sign of summer that you always look for? ... continue reading...

OOPS

Sorry guys! I swear I have a story as to why I didn't do my little photo project post yesterday afternoon like I promised! I started off yesterday with an hour-long WillPower & Grace workout (sweat city) and an awesome egg, ham, and hot sauce sandwich on a sandwich thin: Such a wonderful breakfast!  I'm definitely more of a savory breakfast kind of gal, despite all of the smoothies and pancakes I normally make.  This is what I really like!  Shortly thereafter I also had a 6-inch chicken ... continue reading...

Ode to a Holiday Weekend

Good morning y'all! How was your 4th yesterday?!  I know we had an amazing time...and I am so thankful to have to off too!  The weather's amazing and I can tell we'll get to spend some quality time outside :) I started the day off with another vegan smoothie:  3/4 cup almond milk, 3/4 cup POM Wonderful, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, 1/2 cup frozen peaches: So delicious!  I think I like the strawberries in there better, but I wouldn't turn this one down either :)  After church we came home and, ... continue reading...

Happy 4th!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!! I love this holiday...one for it's meaning for this great country, but also for the food.  I mean, this is a food blog after all.  You have to expect that right? :) So let's see...Friday started off right with a breakfast power sandwich (egg, ham, and sharp cheddar on grainy bread) and coffee from Panera!  I seriously adore the sharp cheddar in that sandwich... Lunch was another Lean Cuisine BBQ chicken pizza.  I don't eat Lean Cuisine for the "nutritional value" ... continue reading...

Crash & Burn

Good morning! Aren't you glad it's Friday?!?! So, like I said before, I added some oats to my smoothie yesterday, and it didn't really do much to change the color: But it definitely added some bulk and some chew! I don't know if I was the biggest fan, but after adding the oats it definitely kept me full a lot longer.  Not that it mattered though, since I had a Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip square cookie x 2: Seriously y'all, Jessica is a GENIUS.  I had people at my office say that these ... continue reading...

Let's Hear it for the Boy

Y'all remember this one? I doubt there's a better way to start off a Wednesday morning that by hearing that song! Well, and if that doesn't do it for you, what about this sweet face? That's my little baby girl just waiting to leave for work...too cute, right?  Speaking of faces, I managed to stuff this awesome chorizo burrito into mine: I'll be honest, for this past week it feels like we've been eating out a lot, and Nate confirmed that same thought today.  I don't know what it is, but we ... continue reading...
