What Day Is It?

TGIF right? Is it just me, or does it seem like the weeks that are shorter feel infinitely longer?  And I always, ALWAYS forget what day it is!

Yesterday morning I had a burrito lady burrito with Italian sausage in lieu of breakfast sausage…I was a little scared, but it was amazing!  I really liked the fennel seed in there!  With hot, hot salsa I was a happy girl 🙂

And treat week this week was my first (and definitely not my last) attempt at Congo Bars!  I used Bakerella’s recipe and let’s just say they were all gone at the end of the day!

I was pretty stinking excited about lunch today too!  I haven’t been getting any veggies in my diet to speak of, and all I really wanted was some fresh CRUNCH! on my sandwich today!  This bad boy was a hoagie roll with roasted turkey, pepperjack, light chipotle ranch, fresh lettuce, and thick slices of tomato:

With a sprinkling of jalapeno kettle chips on the side:

And a big bowl of cherries:

Unfortunately the cherries were not so hot 🙁  PLUS it was rainy during my lunch break, so I ended up going to Whole Foods rather than working out, BUT I did come home and do the WillPower & Grace DVD that we have.  Y’all, I really can’t tell you how much I love that workout!  I’m thinking about making a little challenge for myself with it, but I want to make sure that I stay encouraged to keep doing it.

While I worked out my amazingly sweet husband made dinner for us!  It was penne pasta with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and shredded chicken, then topped with minced pepperoncini…YUM!

I’m telling you guys, there’s not a lot that sexier than my husband cooking dinner for me 🙂  He’s always so particular about how everything is cooked and takes such care in doing it…plus he’s hot.  What’s not to love?!

MARRIAGE REF FRIDAY

I feel like I might have done this one before, but who does the cooking in YOUR house?  Just you, just him, or do you share?

[also]

I’m getting my hair colored and cut tomorrow!  I know what the cut will be like, but help me with the color?  I want to stay blond but am unsure of what KIND of blond!  I’m thinking a little something like this:

[source]

Thoughts? 🙂

Hope you guys all have an incredible Friday!

I usually do most of the cooking because I am at home in the evenings and am able to have dinner ready by the time my husband gets home between 6-7 p.m. But..he does all the grilling. I can grill, but I honestly prefer him to because he does an awesome job and I think it boosts his ego. haha. You would look great in that hair color. Go blondes! 🙂

Those Congo Bars look good, but they appear to be the same as blondies. I always thought Congo Bars have coconut in them too, but perhaps there are many variations.

Just found your blog and I’m hooked! Your food photos look delicious!

My Fiance and I don’t really share the kitchen responsibilities. He doesn’t enjoy cooking like I do and would rather whip up a PB and J sandwich than make a meal. But since I love to cook, chop, bake and steam, I really don’t mind taking over that department. The best part is surprising him with new recipes and seeing how much he appreciates it. Aww. Yeah, that’s a bit too sappy 🙂

i really enjoy reading all the dynamic ways that relationships work!

our cooking is really seasonal–hubs cooks a lot more in the spring and summer with our grill, and i take on more in the winter. i do the meal planning and cooking, but we’re on our own for breakfasts and lunches.

and i love that color choice 🙂

thanks girl! i would probably just do a slightly darker version of my natural dark blonde color for some depth…but i’ve found that lighter blond tends to look better on me!

I do 90% of the cooking…we keep it pretty traditional, and he bar-b-ques. Thank goodness he’s not too picky.

I love the “natural” blonde look and this particular picture of Cameron looks good and would look fabulous on you. I like the low and high lights. Can’t wait to see a pic of the new you!

We share the cooking duties. Sometimes I cook, other times he does. It just depends on our schedules.
I like the hair color! You might even ask for a few more light blonde highlights… I think that would look great in the summertime & give you that sunkissed look.

Hubby and I have a rule, whoever is home first cookies dinner. Other then that we pretty much share the cooking because we both enjoy it.

I plan all of our meals and do most of the cooking, but my husband definitely helps as my “sous chef.” I say “dice that pepper,” he obeys, and then I give him his next task – ha! It works!

The BF does the most of the cooking, he enjoys it and I’m not very good at it! But I do the cleanup and I also do the prep work–chopping etc. It works for us. 🙂

And shorter weeks can sometimes seem longer to me too. Especially when I was working. It always seemed like I had to cram more in the less time and it was always stressful.

I do most of the cooking but husband is getting better at piecing together his lunch with leftovers of whatever I have made.

By the way, have you ever eaten Rainer Cherries.. they are my favorite and are in stores NOW! They have a very short season so if you’d never tried them… go get some! 🙂

I don’t think I’ve been on your blog enough to warrant actual hair advice, haha, but I do like the color of Cameron’s hair. So…go for it!

I’m not married yet but I feel that when I do I will sort of take over the kitchen. I get a bit territorial with kitchens (God knows I am with my one at school, haha) so I think my husband will own the dinner table, me the kitchen.

We don’t like each other’s cooking. We have found it much easier to cook for ourselves. Except that I don’t like to cook much. I find myself cooking once a week and eating the same dinner all week long. I don’t ever repeat a recipe because I eat it for an entire week. Your cooking is an inspiration to me.

Derek and I pretty much share cooking duties around here – but now that it’s summer I find that I am the one in the kitchen making all the side dishes and he is doing the barbecue stuff. What is it with a man and his BBQ?

Love that shade of blond above. Some low lights + some bright blond pieces makes it look like you’ve been on the beach for weeks. I just had color/cut yesterday – there’s nothing better than fresh highlights! 🙂
