Hey guys! I wanted to start off this morning by asking you all to please pray for my family over the next couple of days, specifically my father. We will find out on Monday the results of a surgery that is happening as I write this, and I can’t help but be extremely worried. I have an amazing family headed by an amazing daddy, and my hope and prayer is that we will hear good news on Monday. I don’t want to write about specifics, but if you could all pray for him and my mom I would so appreciate it!
Last night we ended up not eating at home and headed to Rock Bottom to take advantage of a birthday special they had for Nate (his birthday is Saturday!!!) I forgot my camera in the car, so these next two are a beautiful assortment of iPhone photos taken in a dimly lit restaurant. We started off with 2 rolls with butter (heaven), but they were gone before I could even whip out the camera:
And with all my ranting about how upset I was with eating Doritos? Well, we split nachos.
It’s a massive plate with blue corn tortilla chips, beans, chicken, cheese, house made salsa, jalapenos, and pico. Nom nom nom!
When we got home last night I made brownies and key lime pie bars for everyone at work. I’m not going to post the recipe since I’m not planning on eating any, but trust me…they look good! I also tested a recipe for balsamic veggie + pasta salad. It was in the fridge overnight and I was going to taste it today, but lo and behold I forgot it. OOPS!!! We’ll just have to wait til tomorrow then I suppose 🙂
After all that cooking we climbed in bed and slept our little hearts out til about 6 this morning. I woke up to do some yoga, but honestly wasn’t feeling it AT ALL, so I stopped and rested on the couch. Not active, but it was what I felt I needed to do. I’m planning on going on my usual walk this afternoon, and then I’m going to get my knee ultra-sound(ed) at the chiropractor office (my friend Leeann is one of the doctors there). I hope that this will help me be able to run a little more without my knee feeling like it’s going to fall off. For those of you who don’t know, about a week ago my knee started to hurt pretty severely when I was running. I’ve never had a knee injury before, and the main part of the pain is on the back side and stretches around to the sides of the knee. Has anyone else ever had a pain like this?
Either way, Leeann will be doing stuff to make it feel better, for which I am SO THANKFUL!!
Breakfast this morning was another chocolate cookie, like yesterday, but no Amazing Grass (fresh out), and I forgot the milled flax. Still delish though!
And upon getting to work I had a cup of Yogi Blueberry Slim Life tea (lurve), and am planning on devouring two more clementines in T-minus 3 minutes.
Again, if you think of it at all, please throw a prayer up for my family, specifically my dad and mom. They are the best parents I could ever ask for, and I love them so much. I want nothing more than complete and total health and happiness for them both.
In light of Shannon’s Thankful Thursday post, what are you most thankful for today? I’m (obviously) completely thankful for my family and the strength and love they give me!
