Evil Pigeon

Hi guys!  First of all, thank you so much for your sweet comments and emails…I appreciate so much the support and love y’all have shown me during this time.  Please keep my daddy in your thoughts and prayers since we won’t know anything until Monday.

Now, I never thought I’d do this.  In fact, I fought it off for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.  BUT today I caved in and joined Twitter.  You can follow me by clicking the little logo on the right side bar, but I won’t be sad if you don’t.  🙂  I just figure I should be part of the revolution I suppose 🙂

Today’s lunch was pretty much exactly the same as yesterday’s:  bagel sammie with pepperjack and chicken.  Only this time I served it on a bed of carrots:

Very yummy.  Also, I had a small, unpictured brownie…oops!  They’re so good though, I’m going to have to post the recipe later.  They will make you super fat if you eat a whole pan, but one small one (and sharing them with your office) is completely delightful and necessary!

I did the walk today – about 4.5 mph (again) for an hour.  I didn’t want to push myself too hard because my knee is hurting again, but walking wasn’t too horrible today.  I can confidently say that I hardly flinched the whole time!  I just got back and am indulging in the gigantic pink lady and another clementine:

So, while I was walking today I totally made myself laugh out loud.  Do you ever do that? I was walking under this bridge and a pigeon freaked out and flew right over my head to the point that I could feel the wind from it’s flapping wings.  I dodged out of the way and kinda did this little shudder thing, when I realized that if anyone had seen me I must’ve looked pretty silly.  Why did I overreact, you ask?  Let me tell you!

When I was 16 years old my family went to Puebla, Mexico for a week since my dad had a conference down there.  We were having all sorts of fun wandering the streets and eating the food and, unfortunately, accidentally drank the water.  The last day we were at this amazing outdoor market in the square by a really old church surrounded by massive trees.  While wandering, a flock of pigeons took off from the trees, and I looked up.  “How beautiful!  What an amazing site on such a superb day,” I thought to myself.  And the it happened.  One of those suckers POOPED ON MY HEAD.  I was 16.  That kind of stuff doesn’t happen at that age without severe psychological damage.  To make matters worse, it was our last day and my dad told me we weren’t leaving yet and I would just have to have the poop on my head til he was ready to go.  Yes, he was serious.

I have since been scarred for life, so when all you see is a normal, sweet, innocent pigeon, this is what I see:

It’s out to get me every time.  I will duck and run every time I see a bird fly overhead.  Oh well, c’est la vie, right?  🙂

Tonight is the night that I am having my knee looked at by Leeann.  There will be pictures and commentary to come!  I’m so excited to have her (hopefully) help fix my aging bod  🙂  I’d love to be able to run 3 miles without stopping, or really just run period, in the near future.  At the very least I’d like to be ready for hiking this summer!

Have any of you ever been to a chiropractor before?  What was your experience?

This story made me laughing – I feel sorry for you but it sounds really funny 🙂
I often laugh out loud while walking if I think of something funny – other people must think I am completely weird 🙂

I’ve met up with an acupuncturist many times before…does that count? he was awesome, but he couldn’t heal me, because what I was dealing with then was mental.

Hee hee, nice of you to join our evil tweeting side! Just don’t get too obsessed…it can be addicting! 😀

I LOVE this story because I’m obsessed with then birds attack. There are some incredible clips on you tube that I always look at when I’m having a bad day. Nothing better than watching that shit. Great pic by the way with the blurry background.

My bff LOVES pigeons-she’s obsessed with them so I won’t tell her your story.

Yes I’ve been to a chiropractor and it was an awful experience. He did this thing to my chest that made it hurt for months (literally) afterward. I didn’t have pain there before.

I think chiropractors are evil but I know some that swear by them!
