$40 Master Bedroom Refresh

This $40 Master Bedroom Refresh is sponsored by Wikibuy. All opinions are my own.

$40 Master Bedroom Refresh shows how even the smallest change can make a big difference. Thanks in large part to the deal-finding prowess of Wikibuy, I was able to refresh our bedroom with $40! #sponsored

I fall victim to it all the time.

The “I wants” and the false needs and the desire to just make a small change when life itself isn’t changing or moving at the tempo I want it to. I love the feeling of being control of something when so much feels out of whack, and my knee-jerk reaction is to make a change to my environment. Buy something, move furniture around, hang something on the wall – just a little change that makes the rest of life seem doable.

However, even our master bedroom has continually escaped my advances and this past weekend I decided I’d had enough! Oddly enough I wasn’t even looking to change anything – life is pretty good right now – but I just felt a little tired of the same quilt that we’ve had from our wedding registry. It’s held up so well that I just couldn’t justify getting a new one, even though it was bright red, didn’t match anything in our house, and was actually purchased by my high school boyfriend’s mother.

Our master bedroom has been a catch-all for all the things that we need to hide from company but don’t have the time/energy/desire to find a long-term home for. Therefore, a refresh for our bedroom usually consists of actually cleaning it. Are we still friends? Ha!

Despite the fact that we just genuinely aren’t concerned with how our room actually looks, I just felt like a little something would help. A change of scenery if you will – maybe something a little more calming, a little more put together. Something that would make those times that we actually clean  REALLY count!

After waffling back and forth on a couple of different options, I finally decided that a new bed set would be a great thing to have – one with actual pillow shams and that was made for a king bed. I wasn’t as concerned with sheets yet (I know you’re not surprised), but after I thought about it I decided that getting a beautiful blue coverlet and matching shams would make just the right change. Plus they were $40 – exactly – on Amazon!

Sunday when the box arrived I couldn’t wait to put it to use, and I’m so happy with the way the colors worked out with our grey walls and the LOVE boxes that Nate made for me when we were dating. I feel like it ties everything together so well, and I actually get excited about spending time in our room now!

Now if only we could get consistent with that cleaning thing…

Looks great! I always get a lift when I do something like that! Doesn’t take much–so, well done!
