Words cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for my life. Sure, there are ups and downs, but this incredible journey that I've been blessed with is worth the ride. I have the most wonderful parents and little sister who raised me with love, patience, joy, humbleness, and grace. They are the reason I am who I am, and for that I am so thankful. I married the most perfect man for me in the entire world, one who loves me unconditionally, makes me laugh harder than anyone ... continue reading...
Butternut Squash Dip 2 Ways
Amazing Elizabeth is on Faces of Beauty today! I'm back with the promised recipe that caused me to completely mutilate the roof of my mouth with hot, HOT, HOT onions and not even care about the consequences. And since I know we could all use more burned mouths around the holidays, I knew I had to share it with y'all. You see, I thought about how many people would be running around with significant pain from eating this hot, HOT, HOT dip and made sure to include a cold on for you ... continue reading...

Skip & Liz Are Engaged!
Rosalinda is on Faces of Beauty today! First off, someone please tell me it's not just me that Wordpress is eating their posts...? Pretty please? Second, I had 2 incredible recipes to share that will now just have to wait until tonight! HOWEVER, I do have one last Kauai post up my long fleece sleeve, and that is engagement photos from a photo shoot Nate did for Skip and Liz while we were there. I have to say, engagement photos are some of my favorites ever. You have the newness of a ... continue reading...
Weekend Warriors
Saturday was an interesting day. I made the best biscuits ever, nearly froze my tail off in the weird, cold Colorado weather (think snow + sunshine at the same time), ate a full Thanksgiving dinner with 60 of my closest friends, and stayed up til 1AM baking bacon-topped cupcakes. And since we've already visited most of these, let's talk about the WHY behind why I almost froze my tail off. This guy knows what I'm talking about... As do these guys... Nate and a bunch of other guys from our ... continue reading...
Fear Not the Bacon
Syd's story on Faces of Beauty brought tears to my eyes... The mission: create the most ridiculously scrumptious cupcakes the world has ever seen. The ingredients: anything in the entire universe. The result: Chocolate Stout Cupcakes with Whipped Ganache Frosting and Maple-Roasted Bacon. And for the people who might have been scared of the bacon? Same cupcake with almonds on top. Still delicious, but let's face it: almonds are never going to be bacon. Especially bacon with ... continue reading...
Pre-Thanksgiving Feastage
I understand it's not Thanksgiving yet...at least that's the word on the street. But last night we had a Thanksgiving feast to rival all others at Michael & Cherise's house with about, oh, 60 of our closest friends! I can honestly say that going on 12 hours later I'm still full. And that makes me feel old. Sigh. We had turkey, Sweet potato casserole (with marshmallows!!!!!), The best mac & cheese in the history of the planet, Spiraled ham, Fresh veggies (OK fine I didn't ... continue reading...
Perfect Breakfast Biscuits
Let's talk about bread for a second. Bread is the one thing I'm always in the mood for. If the bread is bad at a restaurant, I probably won't be back. I could make a meal of bread and butter and a glass of water. Bread rocks my socks. So you can imagine that quick bread in the morning is going to be pretty high on my list of loves, right? Yesterday morning I woke up with the biggest craving for homemade biscuits I have ever had. Who knows where these things come from, sometimes they just ... continue reading...

No? Just ... continue reading...
I Had a Dream…
Angie is on Faces of Beauty today with an amazing story! Have you entered the Rocco DiSpirito contest? Do it now by clicking here! I had a dream that I created an incredible dessert with a shortbread crust you make with ease in a food processor... ...and there were many, many eggs involved. In my dream I used semi-ridiculous amounts of brown sugar to make this decadent dessert... ...and 'seasonal ingredients' like chocolate and pecans were in there too. Unfortunately my dream ... continue reading...
