First of all, thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments and emails concerning yesterday's post. I am so blessed by you guys and always reminded of the incredible love of Christ through each of you. Just thank you, from the bottom of my heart! With that in mind, I always wonder what dinner would look like if were to all gather together and enjoy a meal together. Part of me would want to tackle some really heavy-hitting recipes (lobster? boning a duck?) to impress you all with ... continue reading...
Big Prayers Needed
Good morning sweet friends! I hope this weekend has been amazing for you all! I know that it has been really nice to have Nate home more than usual around here, and we finally got around to some projects that we've been meaning to get done for a while. That plus lots of fun pool time and good food - we are blessed indeed! I just wanted to put a couple of things out there for you guys if and when you're praying over the next few days. I know I have amazing and incredibly ... continue reading...

What I Love About…Dine & Dish
The entire "What I Love About..." page is (obviously) dedicated to women whose blogs I love reading day after day, plus all of the reasons why, and with each week I'm finding more and more that what I come to love is not necessarily the recipes or the DIY projects or the tips or the photography. I do LOVE those things about these women, but what I'm coming to find more and more is that I love the way that they share their hearts with the world. It's not always the same; some share it through ... continue reading...
Skinny Vanilla Latte Ice Cream
It's no secret I'm a self-proclaimed ice cream freak. I can eat the good stuff by the half-gallon and not even blink an eyelash, and you guys? I have to admit I'm kind of proud of that one. I don't know a lot of girls who can really eat like a full-grown Paul Bunyan-esque man, but I am pretty sure that I am in that small percentage of women. I'm not saying that I do eat like that and I'm not saying I should, but I can. It's one of my better tricks ;) And instead of Babe the ... continue reading...
Making a Memory
This morning was no different than the several hundred before it. Wes and I woke up and snuggled with Nate for a bit before he got ready and headed off to work. We ate breakfast; a strawberry-banana-peach-spinach smoothie for me, bananas and yogurt for Wes. He drank some milk, but more than anything just laughed and threw his sippy cup on the floor. He finished eating and we went to "find the dogs" (we corral them in the next room while he eats since otherwise he'll just ... continue reading...
Strawberries ‘n’ Cream Cookies
Strawberries & cream - such a quintessential summer dessert, no? For the longest time I hate the weirdest disgust for whipped cream and just couldn't stand the stuff. Why? Y'all, if I had an answer for that I would definitely let you know. Part of me thinks it's because we didn't really eat it a lot growing up, so I just got scared and declared I didn't like it. I don't know; I have no excuses for that girl. But now? While I don't just want to devour it on ... continue reading...
Something I Love: My OtterBox Defender Case
There was a week between when I got my new iPhone 5 (thanks to the great trade-in option right now!) and when I got my OtterBox case and y'all? Girlfriend almost had a heart attack about a bajillion times. I guess it's probably the whole "we're not made of money" thing and I've seen so many shattered iPhone screens that I cringe any time my phone falls even a centimeter onto a padded surface. I guess the big problem with that one-week overlap was the fact that I didn't ... continue reading...
Bacon Blueberry Scone for One
So I know Friday I was waxing poetic about how we should embrace simple flavors without going overboard on new things and so on...but y'all, I really just could not help myself. I have a whole lot of amazing (and when I say amazing I mean A-MAH-ZING) Petit Jean bacon in my fridge just begging to be eaten, and a bag of dried blueberries in my pantry. Oh, and did I mention a huge craving for scones? Yeah, that too ;) Basically I took my scone for one recipe and added the ... continue reading...
Adios Google Reader! What You Can Do Now…
In light of true authenticity, when Google announced that it was doing away with Google Reader (basically a really easy way to organize your favorite blogs and make sure you were updated via their RSS feeds), I was a little crushed. I don't usually deal with change well and I was in denial for about a week until I finally got a surge of bravery and switched all of my blogs to Bloglovin'. Another great option is Feedly, although admittedly I haven't tried it out yet (I say yet because I'm going ... continue reading...

What I Love About…Modern Day Memory Keeper
OK so full disclosure here: Whitney and I are friends in real life and we have been friends in real life for practically a lifetime now. I think at first we weren't sure what to think of one another (we met through a mutual friend and both wanted her to be our own friend), but after ending up in middle school, high school and college together I think it's pretty safe to say that we each decided the other was pretty great. I know that's my conclusion anyway :) Truth be told ... continue reading...
