I am so glad you guys are liking this little series! Honestly it's a massive blessing to me to not only explore this career at a deeper level, but to answer the questions y'all have. Keep the emails and comments coming - I hope I can encourage and answer any questions you have! Here are the first two installments in the This IS My Real Job series: The Road to Blogging for a Living A Day in the Life Today I want to explore a severely overlooked aspect of blogging for a living: creating ... continue reading...
Founder’s Favorite Float Shots
I've never been much of a shot girl. Having only done 3 alcoholic shots (all vodka, all about a year apart) in my whole life I can certainly not attest to being a learned shot master if you will, HOWEVER I do know that I'm typically not a fan. The redeeming quality of shots is the cute little shot glasses. ;) Now a terrible transition: once upon a time I worked at Cold Stone Creamery. Three out of my four summers in college I took 2 classes in each session, but one summer I took one of the ... continue reading...
Polar Love
The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Polar. It's not often that I really get into the details of my workouts here on the blog. I try not to make it a secret that I really do enjoy working out - it is such a great release for me - but since I'm no longer a certified trainer I just want to be careful about the things I suggest you guys try when it comes to your fitness. You should always ALWAYS consult a physician when you are planning on changing your activity ... continue reading...
Creamy Lemonade Popsicles
I'm going to be honest here guys: the enemy is at work big time in my life right now. Preying on all the little weaknesses, the insecurities, the fears. He's prying open worries that I've given over to the Lord many times over again, and yet apparently there's still room for those healing moments to be exposed again. He's whispering in my ear those little lies of not enough: not doing enough, not being enough, not thinking enough, not loving enough. I catch myself in this gloomy terrible ... continue reading...

What I Love About…The Kubly Girl
You know when you look at a blogger's header and you think you see all you need to know? Generally I would say that you can't ever judge a book by its cover and never a blogger by their header, but Lindsey's blog is exactly like her header: beautiful, clean, simple and quietly poetic. When I first started reading The Kubly Girl I loved seeing Lindsey's picks for registry essentials, postpartum essentials, and in general her list of things that she loves - her blog is SO pin-worthy ... continue reading...
This IS My Real Job: A Day in the Life
Thank you ALL so much for the wonderful response to the first post in this little series. If you missed it, you can click right here and catch up. Today I want to focus not only on my daily (sort of) schedule, but talk about the things that really make up this blogging job. It doesn't just start with making a dish and end with writing a blog post; there's a lot more that goes into it all and it can truly be a full-time round-the-clock job at times. A DAY IN THE LIFE 6:30am - ... continue reading...
Living in a State of Great Taste: Regional Flavors
When I last left off about my trip to Traverse City, Michigan I had just told you guys that the trip was part of the State of Great Taste contest - but what I DIDN'T mention is that the flavor that wins the contest will be rolled out in the Kroger Private Selection line of ice cream in 2014! I mean really, how amazing is that?! I can honestly say that each and every flavor from each blogger is definitely a winner - I don't envy America having to choose just one! The second day of ... continue reading...
Biscoff Sweet Potato Truffles
Before we start talking about the truffles - Biscoff is hosting this SUPER FUN Spread the Love contest where you can upload yummy photos of your favorite way to use Biscoff spread and win prizes! Not to mention get inspired with other fantastic uses for it (besides, you know, dipping a spoon in there). Trust me, you want to take a look at these photos - just make sure you have a full jar of Biscoff spread when you do! I remember the first time I ever heard of Biscoff cookies was a few years ... continue reading...
