What I Love About…Girl Versus Dough

Oh man. Talk about a blog I love to visit - y'all, sweet Stephanie's blog is IT when it comes to delicious food, beautiful photography, and a sweet girl that you'll just want to bear-hug the moment you meet her!  I can't remember exactly how I found her blog, but the second I did I added it to my reader and have been avidly following ever since.   I mean, head on over and take a look around.  I dare you to not love her yummy recipes!  I pretty much start drooling at the very title, ... continue reading...

Spicy Edamame Hummus

Oh, hey there my friend :) I hope you're having an amazing Friday!   So, since I know we're all tired from the week, I want you to take a minute and ask yourself this:  are you hungry? Will you be hungry later today?  Because if you answered YES to either one of those questions you will just HAVE to make this amazing Spicy Edamame Hummus recipe.  It's creamy and delicious and has just the right amount of spice - and it's actually a healthy option!   Head on over to Arkansas ... continue reading...

Claiming Heather

Man alive, I have no idea how to start this post.  It's been a long time coming, but as usual it takes me a little time to sort through my feelings and such, grappling hopefully for some semblance of an idea and a way to express it in writing.   I'm almost 30 (at the end of September), and have been trying to figure out who I am for as many years as I can remember.  I don't say that in an I'm-so-emotional-and-don't-know-who-I-am kind of way; it's more of a journey of self-discovery, ... continue reading...

Mustard Roasted Sweet Potatoes

I love sweet potatoes.  They're so humble looking, but I love how that dirty coral (is that a color?) outer skin only covers up the dramatic orange within.  I love that they're so naturally sweet that they taste like candy, but candy that's good for you.  I love that they can pretty much pair with anything and taste spectacular.   Told ya I love 'em ;) I'm also a huge fan of mustard.  Since I've never been much of a mayo gal (although I am learning to be OK with it as ... continue reading...

Comfort for Mommas

First of all, let me start out this post by saying that I am DEFINITELY not pregnant right now. I am so excited to be again in the future, but right now? Right now I'm loving the time we're being blessed with just Weston. I don't know if I have ever shared this online, but I always imagined that pregnancy would be just this amazing and magical time where I felt more womanly and awesome than ever. And I was wrong. It's not that my pregnancy with Weston was bad or hard; other than developing ... continue reading...

Creamy Lemon Parmesan Pasta

I'm sure I'm not the only person who will just PREACH that 5-ingredient dinners are pretty much the best thing ever.   Let's examine this a bit:  5 ingredients means that natural flavors have to shine.  It means that said ingredients will *likely* mean a less expensive dinner since there's no reason to buy more stuff.  It means that there's usually less time spent on the cooking part since you don't typically need a lot of time to cook just a few ingredients (obviously this isn't ... continue reading...

State of Motherhood Address

Well, this is my third State of Motherhood Address, which means Weston is now 15 months old! How insane is that?! Every day he is growing and learning and becoming more of a little boy and less of a baby. And, even though he will certainly always be my baby, I am excited to see and be part of all the changes he's going through. We are certainly blessed with an amazing little boy!   THE STATE OF MOTHERHOOD - FOOD Honestly I had to go back to the past few months of posts to get a ... continue reading...

What I Love About…Pinch of Yum

It's funny how my own selfishness can sometimes be turned against me in the best way possible, and I will admit here and now that finding Lindsay's blog has been just that.  I had seen Pinch of Yum around the internet many times, but one time happened to click over when she and her husband, Bjork, had posted one of their Traffic and Income reports.  Now admittedly blogging and all that comes with it is how I make money and contribute to our family's financial needs, but at times it can be an ... continue reading...

Cherry Berry Sorbet

I was thinking the other day.   See, this is usually where Nate would interject a little, "Uh-oh, that's a dangerous thing" comment.  Ha. Ha. Ha. ;)   Weston was loaded up in our jogging stroller and we were on our way to the park to play for a little bit when I just took in a deep breath of sweet summer air and realized that these summer months are the things songs are written about.  Summer always seems sweet, full of memories, and lots of laughter.  It's sunshine, maybe ... continue reading...

May Travel: A Trip to Keo, Arkansas

I know I've been slacking in the travel updates, but we are still trying our hardest to go somewhere new every month! Let's see - January we went to Hot Springs, February we went to Pine Bluff, March we traveled to Dallas for Weston's first birthday party (not new, but still travel!), we didn't go anywhere in April (oops) and May we went to Keo, Arkansas to figure out what all the fuss was about with Charlotte's Eats and Sweets.  I had a lovely comment from Amy on my Pine Bluff post ... continue reading...
