Ever since my trip to Moss Mountain Farm I've been dreaming about this edamame succotash that they served us at lunch. Y'all, it's SO GOOD - I had never really had edamame without soy sauce or in some kind of Asian-inspired dish, but I absolutely loved it! Plus it pairs so well with the sweet corn and tomatoes, giving all of the ingredients a chance to shine. These beans are so delicious and I love the texture! The other day I got a jar of fabulous pepper jelly from the Savory ... continue reading...
Our Back Yard Wilderness
When we moved into the house we're renting this year I was shocked at how HUGE the back yard is! Our back yard growing up was a great size, perfect for keeping up with the grass and having a garden, but it was by no means massive. This back yard that we have now is probably 2-3 times that size! I'm sure you can imagine that our dogs are in heaven out there. Here in Arkansas we have the most insane number of trees, and it is so very green most of the time. I grew up in West Texas where ... continue reading...
Chicken Taco Ranch Salad with Bacon, Avocado and Corn
Can we all just agree that avocados are just the best things ever? I still don't love to just sit and eat them with a spoon, but when you add them to salads or whip them up in skinny avocado margaritas or, of course, make guacamole with them? I'm all over that! Plus they're all good for us and stuff, which means you really can't go wrong with them. OH! And I forgot to mention that I think they're just SO PRETTY on the inside - the colors are just so beautiful and welcoming. They're like a ... continue reading...

What I Love About…Dessert for Two
I remember the first time I made something from Christina's blog: she had basically made my husband's very dreams come true in raw chocolate chip cookie dough form, and made my waistline's very dreams come true in that portion control was included. Little did I know that I would literally become OBSESSED with her blog and just her in general! I've shared a billion (and one) times on here that I am a proud Texan (and still super proud of my adoptive state of Arkansas); ... continue reading...
Healthier Pumpkin Spice Muffins
Oh hey there - welcome to October! Wait. Hold the phone. You mean to tell me that it's actually the last day of May and summer is pretty much in full swing?! My bad... Really though, I saw pumpkin at the store and got a random mid-summer night's craving for a little sugar and spice and just went with it. I figured since Starbucks keeps rolling out the pumpkin spice lattes earlier and earlier every year, I'm probably not the only one who feels like a little pumpkin ... continue reading...
Life Would Be a Dream
It was the dead of winter, another ridiculous amount of snow on the ground and an air temperature that wouldn't get above freezing for at least a few more weeks. I was stuck in a dead-end (for me) job where I loved the people I worked with, but hated the day-to-day mundane tasks. I was already sick from first trimester sickness, but felt worse than that. I knew something was wrong, and so shortly after arriving at work that morning I left to go home where I ended up spending all day in a hot ... continue reading...
Ancho Marinated Steak and Ancho Chile Steak Sauce
I remember growing up I totally didn't "get" the steak thing. Everyone seemed to love it and think that it was this amazing go-to for birthdays and celebrations, and it was really only reserved for special occasions in our house. I hated it though. I thought it was weird and I didn't like the color, and as I grew older I just convinced myself that it was gross. And then I took my college meat class, and I've been a steak lover ever since! Now I'm sure you're wondering what ... continue reading...

First things first, I need to start this post off by saying THANK YOU for all of your sweet comments on Friday's post. Y'all really know how to love a sister well, and I'm so thankful for all of you. Really. BIG TIME. Second, there is no way I'm going to be able to fit in our entire day at Moss Mountain in one post plus recipes. So today I just want to share the 50-ish photos that I narrowed down from about 450 from the entire day and just share some of my favorite points from ... continue reading...
Chicken and Leeks with Spicy Plum Chutney
Remember that one time that I wrote all about how much I love plums? Well, let's add a new thing to that list: I love plums because they pair perfectly with spice and leeks and seared chicken. Because OH MY GOODNESS do they make this dish delicious and come together incredibly quickly! Back in January we made a trip to Hot Spring, Arkansas and happened upon a fabulous little shop called The Savory Pantry, and since then have stayed in touch with them as they continue ... continue reading...
