#WhatsBeautiful with Under Armour

What is #WhatsBeautiful?  It is a community AND a competition to redefine the female athlete.  More importantly though?  It's a challenge for us to rediscover and ACKNOWLEDGE what makes us all beautiful.  And you guys?  This is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart.   I will be setting goals that are aimed to make myself stronger and more fit for the journey God has set out for me.  There are a ton of other FitFluential ambassadors that are setting their own specific goals as ... continue reading...

State of Motherhood Address

The State of Motherhood - Food You know, it's funny how my thoughts toward food have changed over my lifetime.  My attitude has gone from not caring at all to caring too much to eating too much, and now I'm finding my way to a new place of caring and eating just enough to enjoy food but not let it rule my thoughts and my life.  If you have questions about any part of that previous statement feel free to email me, but the point is that I'm working on eating a healthier whole food diet and ... continue reading...

My Wish

I have a lot of thoughts lately.   Thoughts on life, motherhood, marriage, relationships, hospitality, and the direction I want this sweet little online space of mine to go.   A lot of you have emailed me and really opened up about how easy it is to get caught up in the numbers and comparison game in this blogging community.  I get it - I really do.  I'm an extremely competitive person at heart, to the point that it can become a massive stumbling block for me.  In this ... continue reading...

Roasted Cauliflower and Italian Sausage

Guys, this weekend was FANTASTIC.  We finally got 3 days in a row of good sleep, slept in on Saturday, went to eat PIE (post on this coming soon!) in a small town Arkansas, watched movies, hit golf balls, and generally just loved one another well the whole time.  Sprinkle on some fist-fulls of baby giggles, and we had a weekend that really could not have been any better.   I have to admit, I still get shocked at how good sleep really does effect the way the days go.  What's funny to ... continue reading...

Friday FaceTime

Good morning everyone!  Listed below are the links + little blurbs (if you can't watch the video) from today's face time. I hope you guys have an incredible weekend - and that those of you who are stuck in snow (AGAIN) get a lot of sunshine and Spring soon!  (P.S. Sorry for the weird coloring on the video - it was SUPER cloudy all day yesterday and let's just say that setting up a full light kit wasn't an option :)) My Erin Condren planner.  I'm going to do a full post tour through the ... continue reading...

DIY Rustic Growth Chart

I have to admit it's a little bittersweet that I've made this.  A growth chart - a blessing because we have a little man who is growing like crazy (1 foot in 1 year? Ohmigosh...), but that's where the bitter part comes in too.  My little guy is growing up so quickly.   Lately he's started to really seem to register his learning on a whole new level.  He's still not speaking and hasn't had a first word, but he understands commands and phrases and responds to things that Nate and I say ... continue reading...

3-Ingredient Healthy Protein Pancakes

Pancakes are so not my thing.  Don't get me wrong; I DO like them.  But they're not a craving for me.  Same goes for waffles and French toast; they taste SO delicious, but they're just not something I want all the time.  I'm more of a savory breakfast gal - give me an omelet with spicy salsa or some migas or chilaquiles (are you sensing a Tex-Mex theme here?) any day!  Nate is the pancake lover in our family, and I think he more than makes up for my lack of craving them - it's called balance I ... continue reading...

We All Need This

Because from a lot of the emails and messages I've been getting lately, we all need to be reminded of this.  This one life that we get - this one chance to live well, to love others well, to love ourselves well - y'all, we can't waste it on comparison.  Something amazing that I'm coming to realize is that while I always want to work hard and get better, I love myself where I am.  It's taken a long time to get to the point where I can say that, but I wouldn't trade a moment of the journey to get ... continue reading...

Pineapple Tomatillo Salsa, Split Pea Soup with Bacon, Asparagus Tarts, Goat Cheese Bruschetta and Waffle-Grilled BLTs

I know I say this every Sunday, but WOW.  I can't claim to be Bobby Flay or anything, but I love it when I make food that I get excited about eating.  The salsa is PERFECT for the upcoming hot weather, the soup is always good (and freezes well too!), the tart and bruschetta are both perfect for entertaining and super low-fuss, and the BLT?  Well, YES :)  Enjoy! Pineapple Tomatillo Salsa Split Pea Soup with Bacon and Browned Butter Croutons Asparagus, Prosciutto and Gruyere ... continue reading...

What I Love About…Annapolis & Company

Have you ever taken a few hours minutes to click around the internet just for fun, and then you run across a site so wonderful and inspiring and lovely that you literally sit for another few hours just to find out more about this person who seems to be able to speak to your very soul?  I'm sure we've all been there, and I have to say that Mary Beth from Annapolis & Company is just that very person for me.  It's only been a few weeks of reading and following her on social media, but I can ... continue reading...

Some Favorites from the Week

This week has been such a fun week around the blogging world!  I just wanted to share a few of my favorites with you guys in case you missed 'em:   The above quote.  I opened up an email this morning and there it was staring right back at me.  God really knows exactly what we need and when we need it! This post from my sweet friend Sarah on taking a break from blogging.  I am so proud of her and so thankful to call her a friend and a sister. This post from Jessi as a follow-up to ... continue reading...
