Have you ever taken a few
hours minutes to click around the internet just for fun, and then you run across a site so wonderful and inspiring and lovely that you literally sit for another few hours just to find out more about this person who seems to be able to speak to your very soul? I’m sure we’ve all been there, and I have to say that Mary Beth from Annapolis & Company is just that very person for me. It’s only been a few weeks of reading and following her on social media, but I can truly say that she has inspired me on so many levels.
First of all, she’s an amazing photographer – based in Tulsa, OK – and I’m pretty convinced she could shoot a pile of garbage and make it look pretty. Really. Like I’d probably see if I could get it printed and hang it on my wall; she’s that good. I would highly suggest that you take a few minutes and check out her gallery; I have pinned so many pictures from there for family shoots we want to have done soon! And the food? I know it’s kind of a common phrase in food blogging land, but I really do want to reach through the screen and devour everything that she makes. It just looks so crisp and fresh good! And in the very visual world we live and work in, her food photography is done right. Now if only we could get the smells too…
And since we’re talking about food, let’s just chat for a moment about how I want almost everything she’s made at my last supper. Garlic linguine? Yes. Avocado mac & cheese? Sure! Honey garlic balsamic chicken? Mmmmmmmmm…. Blueberry lemon bars? Twist my arm! I think the best part of the food that she shares is that it’s simple and delicious, just how I like it. I think it’s really easy to get caught up in trying to make wild and outlandish flavor combinations (which, to be fair, are usually very tasty), but simple and fresh food is what I really love and it’s clear Mary Beth feels the same way! Foodie soulmates? Probably 😉
While the photography and food are two very big parts of why I love Annapolis & Company, Mary Beth’s writing and her ability to share her heart is what keeps me coming back and reading. She’s soulful and insightful, writing out her feelings and the things she sees with both wisdom and beauty. There have been so many times I’ve been reading and realizing that I feel exactly the same way, only Mary Beth actually said the words that described the emotion(s) to a ‘T.’ I love that I feel my heart growing when I read her words – there aren’t a lot of people I can say that about!
Mary Beth, thank you for your blog – all of it – and the way that you are touching our hearts!
