Good morning everyone! Listed below are the links + little blurbs (if you can’t watch the video) from today’s face time. I hope you guys have an incredible weekend – and that those of you who are stuck in snow (AGAIN) get a lot of sunshine and Spring soon! (P.S. Sorry for the weird coloring on the video – it was SUPER cloudy all day yesterday and let’s just say that setting up a full light kit wasn’t an option :))
- My Erin Condren planner. I’m going to do a full post tour through the planner before I mark it all up, but in light of The Influence Network classes I just have to say that a few weeks ago I took one that covered planning a busy life. I used to be SUPER Type-A and over time have changed (which is good!), but finally having a place that feels like it meets my scheduling needs is fantastic. Before I was using a combination of sticky notes and Google calendar, which has worked, but this planner feels like a breath of fresh air.
- START by Jon Acuff. Cannot cannot cannot recommend this book enough. I had never heard of Jon Acuff until a few weeks ago after the Blissdom Conference. I didn’t actually go to the conference, but read a ton of recaps where he was quoted all the time. Turns out he’s a pretty funny guy, but more importantly very wise in how he’s achieved his dreams and in the way he writes about it. There are so many big dreams that I have that I’ve never taken action on, and it feels like I have the guts to go for it now. More on those later, but for now – get and READ and act on the book!
- This post from Sarah. Again. I posted about this a bit last week, but as I said in the video Sarah basically wrote out exactly how I’ve been feeling lately. I am so blessed to be part of this blogging community and I love it – but I’m feeling very convicted about making it all about me, all the time. So now I’m being stretched and challenged to find ways to make it not about me, but about God and helping/loving others well. I don’t want to look back on my life and see that everything I did was all about self-promotion and catapulting myself to fame and fortune. Those aren’t the things that make life sweet, so I’m turning my heart towards the Lord in prayer and humbling myself to see how He’s going to use me. And I can’t wait.
Love it…Funny After my third VLOG I discovered that you were doing FaceTime on fridays too! 🙂 Someday we should try to do a virtual co-vlog…haha, no idea how that would work! Love this and all of your suggestions. I’ve been looking in to the Influence network but haven’t signed up yet. Glad to hear your recommend.
You’re beautiful!
aloha
Oh, sounds fun! We should totally figure something out for co-vlogging 🙂
I got an Erin Condren planner, too, and love it! I need to get back to using it better, though.
Yay! I really love mine so far – it’s only been a few days, but it was a lot more than I’d normally spend so I’m going to try to get a lot more use out of it!
I know what you mean! I thought it was expensive, and I got a “deal” on mine!
Thank you Heather. Your words about intentional blogging were timely & encouraging. I’ve been struggling to find my blogging voice for some time now. I want to help/encourage other ladies too. I’m going to check out The Influence Network 🙂
You are more than welcome – I hope you join! It’s truly worth it!
It says the video is private! 🙁
Thank you Becca! I just changed it – let me know if it still doesn’t work!
