Man, what a whirlwind this week has been! I kind of like having a holiday in the dead middle of the week…although let’s be honest, a long weekend would be better. But I’ll take what I can get!
I’m planning on talking more about it on Sunday or Monday when I do Wes’s official 4-month post (HOLDTHEPHONEHE’SGOINGTOBE4MONTHSOLD), but it’s been a big week for our little man. He rolled over by himself (from front to back), laughed for the first time (video coming), tried bananas for the first time AND sat in a Johnny Jump-Up and kind of liked it. No wonder he’s a sleepy man – he’s been busy! Even though we can’t seem to capture it on camera (or I can’t anyway), he smiles all the time and loves “talking” to us. It’s awesome – I love spending my days with him!
The dogs have been stuck inside for going on a couple weeks now because it’s waaaaaaaay too hot to take them out to the dog park, but apparently we’re supposed to be getting some cooler temperatures this weekend and I have HIGH hopes that I’ll be able to take them and wear them out. Keira stands at the window watching the rabbits in our yard like a crazed dog – I know she would chase them for milesif only she could get past that dang window. Bunker on the other hand doesn’t care…he spends his days in whatever room Wes and I are in protecting us.
For the Fourth we just hung out at home; Nate smoked some baby back ribs (BEST EVER – my husband has the magic touch when it comes to ribs), I made some cookies, and we totally pigged out for dinner. Since all of Colorado is on fire they banned fireworks (thank goodness!) so we watched the Macy’s fireworks show on TV. Not quite the same thing, but I liked being able to just relax in the comfort of our living room. Those holidays man, they wear me out!
Isn’t that a hilarious photo of Wes eating rice cereal (even if it is a little over-exposed)? I think it’s hilarious the faces he makes when he eats…he likes it because he keeps eating and opens his mouth for the food, but still isn’t quite sure what to make of it. At the very least it provides us a LOT of fodder for pictures to show at his future graduation parties/wedding rehearsal dinner/etc. Isn’t that why parents have cameras anyway? 🙂
Despite our week being crazy busy I’m going to leave you with this: I really don’t think there’s anything better than summer nights, driving with the windows down and blasting country music. Dreamy.
The end. Happy weekending!
Heather, will you do a post about Insanity? My husband just got it for me for my birthday and I’m about to get started. I would love to know your experience with it so far and the results you’ve seen. I’m 2 months postpartum and dying to do some tough workouts again. Wes is such a cutie pie!!
hey Kristin!
i was planning on doing a post about it once i hit the halfway point next week, but if you have specific questions about it before then i’d be more than happy to answer them! i will say that i LOVE it so far!

So so cute!!! It was strange not hearing fireworks going off all night on the 4th this year. Have a good weekend!
