OK mommas, busy women, women on a budget, women who travel, or anyone who just doesn’t want to go to a gym to work out – this one’s for you! Let’s chat for a minute about FitnessGlo – my new favorite thing!
First off, what is FitnessGlo? It’s a website that has online fitness classes that range from 5-45 minutes and cover all things cardio, strength, and stretching. The instructors are some of the best in the business and the classes are never boring. It’s $12 a month for unlimited classes, with new ones being added all the time – compare that to the outrageous gym memberships out there and I think you’ll see that this is a complete STEAL when we’re talking about working out!
For some time now I’ve been working out from home. It all started as a way to save money because we’re on a tight budget and I just don’t want to spend that extra cash when I know I can get results just as well from my living room. At first I totally hated it, was really lazy, and made tons of excuses as to why I didn’t want to work out at our house, but after we had Weston I knew that if it didn’t happen at home it wouldn’t happen at all. So I started working out regularly in our house (or outside on beautiful days) and I really don’t know if I would ever go back to a gym. It’s convenient, I don’t have to worry about germy children’s areas, and there aren’t annoying people who don’t understand gym etiquette hanging around. While I do miss taking yoga classes, that’s about the extent of me missing the gym.
HOWEVER. On the days when it’s hard to be motivated, or Wes’ naps are off, or we’re busy or we’re traveling – for me, this is where FitnessGlo fits in perfectly. They have tons of classes with varying degrees of difficulty and timeframes, so if it’s a busy day or I just want to move for a few minutes they have me covered. If it’s an active rest day and I don’t want to go on a walk, I can jump online and take a 30-minute barre class instead. Since I’m as white as they come with my dance skills there’s no way you’d find me in a dance class with other people who could see me – but I’ve done 2-3 dance classes a week since I started using FitnessGlo, and my knees are thanking me for it.
Another thing that I love is that the instructors are doing the moves with me (us). I know that sounds really silly to some, but I haaaaaaaaaaate when I am doing a workout video or something and the instructor is just standing there talking. It makes me think that they didn’t really plan out the workout with the user in mind; but every FitnessGlo instructor does the moves with you and they do it with a smile (sometimes a wince!) on their face the whole time!
FitnessGlo offers an 8-week customized jump-start program to help you get a move on your routine, plus ways to track your workouts and make sure your routine includes a balance of strength, cardio and stretching. That being said, one of you will win a free 90-day membership!!! Check out the details below:
To enter this giveaway for a free 90-day FitnessGlo membership, just leave a comment on this post telling me what you are looking for in a great at-home workout option or what type of workout video you’d be most excited to try. I will randomly select one winner on Wednesday, June 5 at 12pm CST. Good luck!

I too, just need a little bit of inspiration to get going. Half the battle is coming up with routines. I do think this would help with no more excuses. It would almost be like getting a present every day. Log in to see what they have in store for you to do today. Fun. Really, that would be fun!

I would love a low impact workout as I have some orthopedic problems but still want to keep fit.

With two small children at home and zero extra income, I’m always looking for the best free workout in the shortest amount of time (who isn’t?). LOVE tabatas! Always looking for new ones!

I would loved to try the barre workouts! And if you miss yoga classes, you should try yogaglo. It’s a little more expensive ($18) but so worth it. I’m a yoga teacher with 2 small children in a rural town 25 minutes from where I teach. Actually going to a class happens rarely but I’m on yogaglo daily. There are times when it’s amazing to have someone lead you (and not in the 5 year old ordering you around way.)

I have been working out at home for years and have a ton of DVDs. I find a lot of them on Netflix (then buy them used on Amazon) but it seems as if they’ve stopped adding new titles. I’ve never tried anything like FitnessGlo, though; I would love to give it a whirl! My favorite types of exercise are kickboxing and boot camp.

Sometimes it is just so difficult to squeeze in gym time, so when looking for a workout I need something fast and effective! I really am trying to up my fitness and having an at-home system leaves no excuses – YAY!

What a great idea! I don’t have a gym membership either, but also get bored doing the same workouts or videos at home. I would love the diversity of having lots of class options that fit MY schedule! How perfect! I’d just love to try something new! Also, love your blog and your heart btw! Thanks for what you do!

I’d LOVE to try this out! I’m constantly trying to fit runs and workouts in with a toddler and it’s very difficult to get out of the house to do it. I think I’m most excited to try a real barre workout!

I’d love to try out the barre workouts! It’s not feasible to take classes at a studio since I have a baby so doing it at home would be perfect. 🙂

I need a 90 day workout on the go because I don’t have the time plus my kids will never let me go. They have to be with me everywhere I go. That would be great to 13 yrs old and 8yrs old with me at the work out place.

I would love to try a Barre workout because I’ve heard so many great things about them!

Oh, you mean the creepers who stare unabashedly at your butt as you walk by? Those gym rats with no etiquette? I can see you in the mirror, sir. Stop drooling. It’s disgusting.

I look for an at home work out that isn’t too long…some are like an hour and a half (ain’t nobody got time for that ;)). I would be interested in some sort of yoga workout.

Oh, gosh. I’m the world’s worst about getting myself to exercise. I really need something to motivate me, and I’m sure not going to a gym, so having something here at home would be awesome. I need strength exercises, especially for my arms, as I’m getting to that certain age. Blah.
Anna says
I love working at home and this seems like a great way to have variety. I love being able to do a mixture of cardio and strength in one workout. I’ve tried a few of Amy Dixon’s DVD and really liked her, so I’m sure I’d workout with her first.
Kristi says
I would love to find a workout that gets me back into the routine of working out. I have fallen off the exercise bandwagon, and really need to find that omph to get me back into it. If I can workout from my home there really isn’t any excuse not to, right?
Melissa C. says
I’ve never heard of a barre workout before, but from the description on the website it looks like it would be a great workout. I really want to join a gym but the cost is prohibitive. This is a great alternative!
Olivia @ Liv Lives Life says
What I love most about at-home workouts is that they’re customizable as far as time and type. Thanks for the giveaway!
Susan says
I always need to change things up workout-wise, because I get bored easily. I’ve been taking barre classes lately but the price is insane ($20/class), so to be able to access that from home for a much better price would be fantastic!
Emily says
I look for VARIETY in at home workouts. I get bored easily, I need something fun to keep me engaged!
Caroline says
I would love to try a barre video!

I would be most excited to try the barre workout videos! I’ve heard great things about barre classes, but they are SO expensive at the studio in my area (we’re talking $18+ per class)…and as a barely-outta-college girl, ain’t nobody got money for that!
