Blueberry Streusel Coffee Cake in a Jar
Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. Doesn't mean it has to be boring; doesn't mean it can't be delicious. And if you happened to read Jessica's or Maria's post this morning, you'll see that I'm not mistaken here. That rarely happens anyway...just ask me. This morning's breakfast was inspired by Angela's Apple Streusel Cake in a Jar that she posted a while back, and I have to say I've been a little obsessed with making it since then. However, I'm not vegan, nor do I ... continue reading...

Because It’s Friday
Because it's Friday, and because I woke up this morning simultaneously craving doughnuts and muffins, I decided to take a little leap straight into the pages of my Pioneer Woman Cooks! cookbook and make something for breakfast. I feel like I saw these all over Bloggerland last year under the name "Doughnut Muffins" but I have to say that "French Breakfast Puffs" is much fancier. And that's just what I am: fancy. Here's your one chance Fancy don't let me down.... I ... continue reading...
Kara-Age Dinner
I just wanted to show up today with a little review for you guys...and I'm happy to say it's a good one! As part of the FoodBuzz Tastemaker program, I was offered a sample of Kikkoman's new Kara-Age chicken coating to try out and give feedback on. Basically kara-age means Japanese fried chicken (or any meat for that matter), and I couldn't help but go for it. I love fried chicken (duh) and love Japanese food...what's not to love? The coating arrived in the mail and is super simple to ... continue reading...
Vanilla Ice Cream Cake
Beautiful Sarah and her amazing story are on Faces of Beauty today! Who loves vanilla ice cream? (the crowd goes wild). That's what I thought. And even those of you who don't love vanilla ice cream would probably choose eating it over no ice cream at all right? Hey, I'm just callin' it like I see it. But guess what? This cake contains no ice cream whatsoever. Zero. Zilch. Nada. But boy howdy does it TASTE like vanilla ice cream! And it would be perfect with vanilla ice ... continue reading...
Our Messes
We call them our messes. Not just because of the inordinate amount of dog fur found throughout our cozy little home. Or the gray-ish carpet that was a pristine white when we first moved in. Or even the inumerable "land mines" in the back yard. They are just messes themselves, and we like it that way! ... continue reading...
Cornmeal Pancakes
Nate and I were having a conversation last night that made me think about the recipes that I put on here. I love old-fashioned recipes, classics, staples. But I also love putting my own twist on them too. When I say twist, it could be a new flavor, a different texture, a healthy twist, or even another chunk of butter. Hey, playing with food is fun! This morning I decided that I was craving pancakes after seeing this amazing recipe on Jessica's blog, and promptly opened up every ... continue reading...
Vacation, All I Ever Wanted
Vacation, had to get away! Although this song is kind of a favorite. Don't judge. Happy Tuesday y'all! (And if you're on vacation right now, we are in a fight til you get back. The end. :)) ... continue reading...
Twice-Baked Potatoes
Alexandra is on Faces of Beauty today! The potato. Simple. Unassuming. The staple at so many meals. But what if it wants to break out? Be the star of the show? What happens then? I'll tell you what: you make twice-baked potatoes. And the best part? You can cut out some of the "bad stuff" like "fat" (quotes are completely on purpose) by using plain Greek yogurt in lieu of sour cream! I don't know about you, but that just means I can eat more. Hey, it's healthier ... continue reading...
