Oh hey there! What's that? You're curious if I'm still eating food? Say what? Because it's been forever since I posted a recipe for you guys? Why yes, thank you for asking, I am still a consumer of food these days, but see - I've just become the mom of a Kindergartner and I've been working hard to live in the moment. So things like taking pictures of my food have just fallen to the wayside for a little bit...one of the perks of working for myself I suppose. But fear not! Food is coming y'alls ... continue reading...

Oh gosh y'all. I can hardly breathe. My baby starts Kindergarten on Monday, we have Meet the Teacher Night tonight, and I can't seem to stop crying. Next week is going to be rough. Hang in there with me? In other news, we have been spending some time outside lately and holy cow do the bugs love me. I have bites everywhere including inside of my bellybutton. I don't know if there could be a worse place to have a bug bite (well, I can imagine one place) than smack dab in the middle of ... continue reading...
Hey Blogger Lady, You’re Allowed to Rest
I've been working for myself for 5-1/2 years now, and I think it's safe to say that I've gone through many ups and downs. I've gone from viral recipes to nothing at all, from intense motivation to complete exhaustion. Wash, rinse, repeat. This past weekend I was able to meet up and hang out and learn from some of the amazing women (and a few men) who have become friends and my blogging family. One thing that I've always been impressed with is that when it comes to The Women Bloggers ... continue reading...

[photo from @lindseyfalls] I feel like I've been super dramatic about Fridays the past couple weeks, but truth be told it's a pretty dramatic time in my life. Both of my boys are learning how to be people with personalities and differences of opinion, it's hot outside, school is starting soon, and our travel schedule has been all kinds of crazy for the past 3 weeks. Nate has been gone for 7 days (he's back now thank goodness), A has his final molars coming in (so much praise for this...), and ... continue reading...
Paleo Apple Crisp
I only have one shot of this goodness because honestly? I was just trying to use up a bunch of ingredients before they went bad. I peeled, chopped, zested, mixed and crumbled for a few minutes and then stuck a 2-quart Le Creuset baking dish in the oven. 45 minutes later I pulled that same dish out, inhaled the goodness within, and counted down the minutes til the danger of burning my mouth was less likely. Last weekend we hung out with my parents, traipsing through downtown Little Rock and ... continue reading...
On Big Dreams and Making Them Count
[quote from Grant Cardone] In my career life I've been fortunate enough to work at some pretty cool places with some incredible people, but along the way I couldn't help but feel like it still wasn't enough. I loved the regular salary, benefits, and most of all the relationships; however, something always felt off. I never thought of myself as an entrepreneur, but God slowly eased me into it. The past 6 years of running my own businesses has taught me what this exact quote says: I can work to ... continue reading...

Y'all. TGIF. This week hasn't been bad; in fact, it's been a really great week. Shorter because I was on vacation with my family, great deals available to my Beautycounter customers, I got my house cleaned up(ish). And it's Friday. However, coming down off the of the vacation high was hard for all of us and we are about to start getting into more of a routine before school starts - i.e. a lot less TV, more chores, higher expectations. You know, the things I'm supposed to have been ... continue reading...
3 Unexpected Side Effects from Starting My Side Hustle
Most of you know that when I started considering a side hustle with Beautycounter I wasn't in a good place with blogging. I was lost as to how to progress this online space because my longer-reaching goal had not been (at least not for a long time) to create a cookbook or write a juicy tell-all memoir. I wasn't sure what business or health coaching was, nor was I interested in becoming certified. All I saw stretching out in front of me was a future of zero-creativity blogging for the sake of ... continue reading...
Perfect Gluten Free Brown Rice Pancakes
When it comes to pancakes I consider myself a kind of connoisseur. From sweet to savory, fluffy to flat, covered in preserves or chocolate or maple syrup or cheese - it’s all good to me! As of late my children have become mildly obsessed with all things pancakes as well. It’s quite the time to be alive in my house! While we are not a gluten-free family, we do have quite a few friends whose dietary needs include food that doesn’t contain gluten. So many times I hear people complain about ... continue reading...

Well my friends, we have now entered into the official craziness that is going to be the end of my summer. Tons of travel - as a family and then Nate and I separately - swimming lessons, speeches, business launches, creative endeavors, plus the things like laundry that just never go away. It's going to be amazing but I'm already tired. At the end of it all school starts and the BAM! it's Christmas. Like how I skipped over the last quarter of the year? :) Anyway, this ... continue reading...
No Sugar Added Grain-Free Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
I'll just say it right now: my older son is the pickiest eater these days. He has a variety of foods that he loves and/or will tolerate but when it comes to eating new foods he's just not in love with trying it. While most of the time we can coerce him into at least taking a taste I've found that I need to get creative with wholesome ingredients to make food more inviting. Enter muffins packed with chocolate. I feel like any mom should be able to put on her resume ... continue reading...
Detox Week Meal Prep
I've always been a big fan of meal prep. Being able to throw dinners together on the fly? Especially on busy, hectic, crazy days a little extra meal prep goes a long way. That being said I rarely do the meal prep that I should to really feed our family well, but after an indulgent weekend I knew that we really needed to up our salad game this week. The challenge for me wasn't the prep work, though, it was getting enough good fresh organic food to fulfill our ... continue reading...
