Hey guys! I finally made it back! This was a LONG day on my feet, and I'm not used to that anymore! My feet are ready for some TLC, that's for sure! This morning I did another 3-minute cookie, but used the Amazing Grass instead of cocoa powder. I thought I might go ahead and share the recipe for this on my blog, but I just want to make sure everyone knows the original recipe is from Tina! She's the one who came up with the original, and I just adjusted it for my own personal tastes! Below ... continue reading...
Snow Shizzle
Morning everyone! This is gonna be a short one since it snowed last night and I'm driving my Corolla into Denver for the SIA Snowsports Show (I told Nate to take the Jeep, it's totally my fault). This is NOT the picture I wanted to post, but I haven't eaten breakfast and didn't really have anything else on the camera that I didn't post last night already :) In other quick news, I did do that workout last night, it kicked my tail, and I immediately felt better about myself afterwards! Note ... continue reading...
Killer Tofu
Anyone remember this song from that Nickelodeon show, Doug? I may or may not have been hopping around the office to it a few minutes ago... I've got to admit, I didn't do very well with the self control again today until this evening. NOT OK. I don't want to deprive myself, but for some reason if I'm stressed, tired, and cranky there's just no holding me back from food I don't need to eat. It all started innocently enough with some bean soup (white beans, carrots, celery, onion, red bell ... continue reading...
Grilled Cheese Overload
Oh man, I really did it this time! I totally overdid it on the dinner thing last night. Not necessarily but eating TOO MUCH food, but too much of one particular kind of food. What's that, you ask? Grilled cheese: On the side we had tomato soup in a plastic party cup :) It's so funny, too, because I was reading someone's comment on The Weekly Bite yesterday about how grilled cheese and tomato soup is such a stellar combination. She was right! I loved this magnet on Rebecca's fridge: And, ... continue reading...
It's All About Owl City Radio
I mean, it is - Owl City Radio on Pandora could be in the top 10 best things that have ever happened to me. There, I said it! I know Rebecca's husband, Rhett, will 100% agree...I just know it! Lunch was a chicken sammie on whole wheat bread with habanero pepperjack, and a large fistful of carrots. You know what I discovered today? CARROTS + ALMOND BUTTER, that's what! How did I not know this was perfection? I must've blacked out while reading about it on Kath's blog! Anyway, it's ... continue reading...
That's What Friends Are For
Hey y'all! How is your Tuesday treatin' you? Mine's par for the course so far! Thanks so much for your sweet comments last night! We are going through the Song of Solomon in church right now, and were challenged to write a love note to our spouse. The things I wrote were all things I don't say enough to Nate, and I wanted him to be able to see any time how much I love him :) We also experienced the death of a very dear friend yesterday, and it really made me think: our time here isn't ... continue reading...
Love Letter to My Husband
My dearest husband, Nate, To say that I love you so much would be the understatement of a lifetime. Words cannot simply express the pure joy that my heart feels when I think about how you and I share a life together, and I know I could not have been blessed any more than I have been by being your wife. You make me sublimely happy! It’s so crazy to think back to when we met in college and started dating. You know that I was not in a good place at that time. The funny thing is, I didn’t even ... continue reading...
Monday Shmunday
Hey y'all! So glad y'all liked the Vail pictures! I was really hoping to showcase more of the Colorado beauty, but apparently the wind-blown snow wasn't having any of that! This morning was yet another breakfast cookie, made the same as Saturday's. These things are SO GOOD, but I'm thinking I might try to do the Tbsp of flour tomorrow instead of cocoa powder. Just to go CRAZY and do a little something different! When I got to work I indulged in a cup of Blueberry Slimlife (first introduced ... continue reading...
The Vail Birthday Weekend
Hey guys! Long time, no blog right? It's been a very crazy weekend, and has left one sleepy and physically worn-out Heather in it's wake! Saturday morning started off with this great breakfast cookie, again another Tina concoction:She's totally right, this is WAY more moist and cakey, which I loved. I added 1 Tbsp of cocoa powder instead of flour because, well, I love chocolate. I also added 1 Tbsp of 60% cocao chips for the same reason! Keira wanted some of that action, but I told her no ... continue reading...
Quick, Fast, In a Hurry!
Morning everyone! Truth be told, we skied at Vail yesterday until my legs could barely hold my body up any longer! Twas a great day of skiing, but since then I've been super lazy and haven't been able to pull myself upstairs to do a full post of the day. Oops :) Sooooo, I leave you with a picture of my sweet baby boy, Bunker. I love him for many reasons, but a big one is that he thinks I hung the moon...is that bad? He's such a sweet cuddle bug, and I thought it would be good to give him a ... continue reading...
Happy Birthday Nate!
Hi everyone! We drive to Vail (leaving at 6 - yikes!) for Nate's birthday tomorrow, so I'm posting tonight! I am REALLY hoping to get some great photos while we're there since Vail is one of the most gorgeous places ever! First off, I broke my memory card earlier today, and lost all of the pictures from lunch. Basically it was a whole wheat chicken + pepperjack sandwich, 1 clementine, and whole wheat pasta salad with broccoli, carrots, and peas. Not life-changing, but still pretty good. ... continue reading...
Broken Knee Healed?
Hey guys! Loved all the comments last night on your experiences with chiropractors! I had a great experience last night with Leeann...she was so gentle, and I definitely felt better after being "blocked" (aka voodoo magic) and adjusted. I also had some therapeutic ultrasound done on my knee. She said it's not likely that I'm completely healed or will feel 100% immediately, since it takes a little while for the body to heal, but hopefully I'll be able to do this more often and be able to run ... continue reading...
