Broken Knee Healed?

Hey guys!  Loved all the comments last night on your experiences with chiropractors!  I had a great experience last night with Leeann…she was so gentle, and I definitely felt better after being “blocked” (aka voodoo magic) and adjusted.  I also had some therapeutic ultrasound done on my knee.  She said it’s not likely that I’m completely healed or will feel 100% immediately, since it takes a little while for the body to heal, but hopefully I’ll be able to do this more often and be able to run again soon!  Here we are, about to get started:

I didn’t do more pics because we were moving from room to room the whole time, but maybe next time Nate will be there to show y’all how awkward I am 🙂  Afterwards, Nate and I went to Old Chicago for a free pizza in celebration of his birthday week!  I tried to take some of Gina’s advice and get a salad before the meal to fill up with some raw veggies, and therefore eat less.  I ordered the caprese salad:

Honestly, I was NOT impressed.  The menu made it sound like there would be a lot of spinach and lettuce with the dressings of a caprese salad on top, but the above picture was all I got.  Not super flavorful (blame the winter tomatoes) except for the basil.  Next time I’ll just get a regular old house salad instead.

We also split an Alaskan Smoked Porter (I love dark beer!!!)  All of these pics are dark and blurry (sorry!) because the restaurant was too dark for the camera to adjust without being on a tripod…

And then we split a medium pizza, half pepperoni, half sausage.  We maintain that there is nothing better in the world of pizza than crispy pepperoni.  NOTHING.  Don’t try to convince me otherwise 🙂

I had a slice of each, rather than my normal 3, so I felt pretty good about it.  We also stopped by the massive beer store close by and got some Pipeline Porter for our dinner celebration tonight!

We got home, watched some 30 Rock, and finally (for the first time this week) got to bed early!

This morning I did a smaller version of the 3-minute chocolate breakfast cookie:

Basically it’s 1/3 cup oats, 1.5 tsp cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp flour, 1 Tbsp chocolate chips, 1/6 cup of egg whites, 1/2 Tbsp coconut flakes.  Microwave for 1.5 minutes, and spread peanut butter on top.  Honestly, it was still way more than I needed, so tomorrow (before we head to Vail) I will probably make the original small version!

I did a 30-minute core fusion workout today with lots of planks, push-ups, glute work, and stretches!  I hope I’m sore tomorrow, although I doubt it!  I’m also going to do my usual walk today.  I need to get into some more strength training, but I’m finding more and more that (since we can’t afford a gym mmbership at the moment) I need to be doing a video of some kind to stay focused and accountable.  I keep hearing great things about the 30 Day Shred…anyone have thoughts on that?

I stopped by Starbucks on the way in today and got a coffee with nonfat milk.  I love celebrating Fridays with a coffee from somewhere else!

And I’m off to work for the day!  Do you have any Friday rituals to celebrate the end of the week?  I like to get coffee in the AM before work…it really makes Fridays special!

I wish I was as disciplined as you and only treated myself to coffee on Fridays. I love my Starbucks!

My friday ritual is also coffee related. On fridays I let myself get coffee and breakfast before work. this past friday it was starbucks, but it is usually starbucks, panera, or dunkin donuts.

That cookies looks sooo good, though I’d probably dump one cup of chocolate chips in there. Yum! Have fun in Vail.
