Are you passionate about sharing great food content but what to know the "rules" behind it all? In this class we will cover the basics to make blogging about food FUN and rewarding, but ... continue reading...
Off to #AWBU!
I'm spending this weekend up in Northwest Arkansas with some amazing ladies (and a couple of gentlemen!) at the Arkansas Women Bloggers Conference! I said it last year (when I used the above photo for the first time...), but to date this has been my favorite conference. I'm actually speaking today, and then a few times tomorrow, so I'm sure my social awkwardness will be at an all-time high; such is life! I hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!XOXO,Heather ... continue reading...

Motherhood is a calling (and where your children rank). WOWZAH. Talk about convicting and encouraging all in one fell swoop. Mothers and not-yet-mothers alike need to read this and see it. It has single-handedly changed my perspective on life this week. This honest post from Jessi on church planting. Y'all, it brought back so many memories for me - those same feelings are all ones that I felt only a few short years ago. If only I had spoken truth to myself like what's in this ... continue reading...
Seriously Delish…But Seriously (+ Cookbook Giveaway!)
This giveaway is now closed. The winner & runner up have been contacted. Thank you all for participating! Y'all, I don't even know where to start with this. It feels like so long ago Jessica and I both started our blogs and somehow, some way, through the magical power of the internet met and became friends. I remember the days that we would complain about our crappy jobs, our frustration with not being able to spend more time on our blogs, and how much we both loved Ree ... continue reading...
Seared Summer Squash & Heirloom Tomato Salad
This recipe was originally created for the Arkansas Farm Bureau. As summer winds to a close, the schools start back up and the weather starts to tease with a cooler breeze now and then, I can’t help but want to fast forward into the 70-degree days and cool nights of fall. And, who can turn down the gorgeous changing leaves, accented by the rolling hills of this beautiful state? That alone basically calls for us all to grab the pumpkin puree, chili ingredients and football paraphernalia to ... continue reading...
Happy Labor Day
(photo by my father-in-law of Lake Almanor) Happy Labor Day dear friends! Here's hoping that you're spending the day relaxing, soaking in the last bits of summer and more than anything being present with your loved ones. I don't tell you guys enough, but you all mean the world to me. And I love you - yes YOU! - for just being awesome. Much love, Heather ... continue reading...

When I heard my kids describe my marriage. Monica is rocking these family-oriented posts lately, and this one is no different! Because I think we all know how our own parents' marriage(s) have created long-term effects (both positive and negative) on our own relationships...something to think about! Thrive Moms announced their Fall Retreat and I instantly signed up. PLUS IT'S FREE! This simple oat + pecan crisp from Pinch of Yum inspired by Shauna. Seriously gorgeous, ... continue reading...
Relentless Pursuit
I mentioned it on Instagram yesterday, but it's been a while since I've read along with the girls of She Reads Truth. Not on purpose, but after a big move and increased workloads and an increasingly energetic little man, taking time to really dig into God's word has fallen by the wayside for me. And I've felt it. I've felt a distance, an emptiness, a need to spend time with the Lord, but in the moment it has been hard to commit. But you know what? Despite the junk on my part, God is ... continue reading...
Toffee-Scented Banana Bread
Banana bread. It's perfect for really any meal, any time. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, dessert, midnight snack. So really, according to that lineup, we should all have about one loaf of banana bread per day in order to meet a perfect meal requirement. Can I get an amen?! Really though - we go through a lot of bananas in our house but I always get excited when we have a few extras that start to get mushy because it means a great banana bread isn't far away. I make tons ... continue reading...
Sausage, Leek & White Bean Soup
There is one glaring thing wrong with this post, and that is the small fact that I'm writing it on basically the HOTTEST day of the entire summer. On a day when I should be talking about ice cream or iced tea or a fresh salad...I'm going to tell you to make this hot soup. I know, I know...but really. You should totally make this soup! (Or at least pin it because you'll definitely be wanting this when the weather changes.) I actually made this a few weeks ago for the first time and we've ... continue reading...

I wasn't sure what to lead with this week, but then I stumbled across this Instagram from Jami Nato and felt like she was talking straight to me instead of her newborn baby boy. Amen to all of it. This post about growing old with yourself; all of it goes along with the need to live a brave life. I'm all over that! This post of lessons from blogging for 8 years - every single one is filled with truth! A wild + crazy miracle called blogging...a good ... continue reading...
Roasted Eggplant & Fig Pizza
Y'ALL. Man alive, I didn't realize just how much harder coming back from vacation with a toddler was from just going by myself! Because I've done a lot of freelance stuff lately I wanted to share some of those as we settle back into normal routines. I made this SUPER delicious pizza for my lovely friend Jessi and I think you guys might just flip. Head on over for the recipe! ... continue reading...
