Exciting Times

Exciting times are to be had this evening…but let’s start with the afternoon’s eats first!

Lunch was the last of the Kroger store brand veggie lasagna with a handful of carrots (which I ate with almond butter):

And, since I’m not feeling 100% today, I indulged in 3 of these clementines:

And this random cookie thing I found in IT (all I know is it was 100 calories):

Basically the afternoon just kind of drug on doing busy work, but thankfully I interrupted it with my walk (and final workout of the day) from the HPJ page.  Today was one of those days where my body just clicked and I walked FASTER than 4.5mph and it just felt so smooth and seamless.  You gotta love those days!

When I got back I was so excited to dig into my snack!  I made it extra fancy for y’all today:

That’s right, it’s a pumpkin yogurt parfait with mini chocolate chips (makes you feel like you’re eating more of them), dried cranberries, coconut, and GrapeNuts!

It was all I could do to keep from digging in while I adjusted the white balance for the eco-friendly flourescnet lights I have over my desk!  Soon after I was lost in a whirlwind of snacky goodness and looked down to find this:

All gone!  So good though…seriously, I think my favorite part is the cranberries.  I know, I know, I’m crazy for not saying the chocolate.  But the chewy texture is so unexpected in the yogurt that I gotta go with the cranberries!

Tonight is the bottling of the first batch of beer the boys made a couple weeks ago!  From what I hear it’s going to be really good, and I’m so excited to photograph the occasion and (hopefully) taste it soon!  The first one is supposed to taste like Deschuttes Black Butte Porter, and I think we all know at this point that’s right up my alley!

What are your March goals?  I think we allknow what mine is, but as a recap:  I want to fit into a pair of jeans/short that I haven’t been able to wear for years!  And the great news is that I’m almost there.  The goal is by March 16, and I am so excited to have found the motivation and encouragement to finally do this!

That ‘random cookie thing’ is a Hamantash! It was just the Jewish holiday of Purim, and those are traditional cookies. I’m actually making some right now!

My goals are to just keep to my training plan and try to get my weight into the 160’s. I’m at 173.5 now – so close!

    That parfait looks awesome!

I just want to keep listening to my body and honoring what it has to say. If I get caught up in goals bigger than that, it just leads me down a path I don’t want to be on.

Whoo hoo for homebrew! I agree, a homebrew tasting and food pairing gathering would be a great time.:)

As for my March goal, well, I would really start to get physically active again. I don’t talk about it alot, but I don’t work out. At all. And got winded going up the stairs yesterday, which I hope will be a wake up call to get moving!

My current goals are to change up my exercise routine and to try other things. {I think yoga is the only thing that I could never move away from} I just got P90X in the mail and am psyched to try it out : ) I am also always working on respecting my body when it needs rest!

my fitness goal for March (besides plugging away on my half training), is to get back into strength training! I’ve been pretty lax about it recently.
