Hey guys!  How are y’all?  Thanks so much for all of your awesome suggestions on what you do/take for sore throats!  I’m feeling much better today, but still sound horrible.  Plus when I cough it makes my head hurt.  Is that weird?

Yesterday’s breakfast was some hot quinoa cereal (1/3 cup each of quinoa/milk/water, a dash of cinnamon, and some vanilla, cooked over medium heat for 15 minutes) with a little granola and roasted maple cinnamon almond butter:

It took all of my energy to make it, but the good news is it tasted amazing!  All I did yesterday was lay in bed and sleep, with the exception of the 30 minutes I tried to watch a movie.  I got up around 7pm feeling much more rested and made some Sicilian Split Pea Soup for dinner:

I love this brand!  Has anyone else tried Alessi products before? I highly recommend them…you can find them at Walmart, they’re inexpensive, the ingredient list is good, and they are always super flavorful!  We stayed up and watched Modern Family and Law & Order, then I hit the sack again.  I think I was only awake for about 3 hours 🙂

This morning I got up and felt much better, so I thought I’d go in to work.  We’re slow this time of year, so I was thinking it would be something I could handle.  I made a chocolate + peanut butter GM:

This time rather than using ice cubes I used a small frozen banana, and it was the perfect consistency and didn’t have a lot of added bulk to it.  I’m thinking I should start using frozen bananas more often!  It felt amazing on my throat too 🙂

I went in to work and then was told that it would probably be best if I went home.  I just sound horrible and still don’t feel 100%, so I’m answering emails and working from home today.  Plus probably sleeping some more because as it turns out, my getting ready for work routine actually wore me out.  Definitely a good idea to stay home again!  It’s also supposed to rain all day, which I am really excited about:  it means I won’t have to water our yard, and I just love rainy days anyway 🙂  OH!  And don’t forget to weigh in on tomorrow’s Marriage Ref Friday!!!

What’s your favorite kind of weather? I love sunny, warm days, but I’m ALWAYS up for some rain!  It’s beautiful, peaceful, and, well, kinda sexy 🙂

Anyone have any new blogs that they found/love? I just found Sprinkle Bakes through How Sweet It Is and I think I’m in love…

I love the Alessi soups! I think I’ve tried them all and keep some in my pantry at all times for those sick days! I found them really cheap at the Christmas Tree Shop…unfortunately when I went back they were all gone! Feel better!!!!!

I like rainy days. They either make me more productive or make me want to curl up with a book under a big blanket.

    Glad you’re feeling better!

Glad that you are getting an extra day of rest. That is important. And how perfect that it is a rainy day to rest and relax with. I love rainy days where I don’t have to do much of anything. 🙂

Glad you’re feeling better 😀 I love soup when I’m sick – especially flavorful kinds, cause goodness knows it’s hard to taste anything when you’re sick right?

Hope you continue to feel better!

Hope you start to feel 100% soon! I’m with you – I love sunny, warm days, but there’s something to be said about a rainy Saturday when you just sit around and watch movies all day, and don’t feel guilty about it 🙂

I’m sorry you’re sick! I just got over a bug myself, so I really sympathize 🙁 At least you still have an appetite…that is always a good sign! (Uh, at least that’s what I told myself last week when I ate cereal and toast at every meal.)

I have only watched The Marriage Ref once and wasn’t impressed. Do I need to give it another chance?
