Kauai: Day 4 – JJ’s Broiler

Does anyone remember when this used to be a food blog?  Not that there’s anything wrong with a travel blog…in fact, if anyone needs me to go on a trip and blog about I’m totally open.

Just sayin’.

But for all intents and purposes this is a food blog and by golly we’re going to talk about food tonight!

After the helicopter tour we were all starving.  Turns out being a nervous wreck makes for one hungry tummy.  Side note:  does worrying count as exercise?  It should…

Back on topic though:  JJ’s Broiler in Lihue, Kauai is one of the best places I’ve eaten in a while.  It’s not that the food is all that incredibly spectacular, although it is very tasty.  Please reference the above fried food platter and the below Kahlua pork wrap if you need proof.

Or even the basic yet oh-so-wonderful bacon cheeseburger with pineapple:

The restaurant is overlooking a fabulous beach where you can watch surfers and families alike playing in the surf.  The sun shines through the umbrellas and the windows, the sea breeze (also a tasty adult beverage) keeps you cool, the roar of football fans echos in the background, and you can finally just sit back and relax.  It’s all about the experience with this one, and that’s something I wouldn’t change for the world!
