Faces of Beauty

Kauai: Day 4 – Nate’s Fave

Jamie is on Faces of Beauty today!  Head on over and say hi 🙂

Howzit going y’all?  Howzit is Kauai slang for “how’s it going”…you might see me using it frequently now.  Hey, who cares that I’m closer to 30 than 20 these days?  Slang is fun no matter how old you are!

Confession:  I’m really afraid of heights.  I never used to be, but I guess the whole getting older thing has really thrown me for a loop in that area.  Thus I did not go on the helicopter tour of Kauai and frequently cried and told Nate how much I love him and how much I’d miss him if he died touring the island by air.

Sometimes I can be a bit dramatic.

However, he thankfully did NOT die and judging from the looks of these photos I’ll be getting over my fear next time and going up with the group!

There were so many waterfalls…

The canyon again…

These are the cathedrals in the canyon, probably one of my favorite shots EVER!

I mean really, how much more beautiful could it get?!

Turns out living in a land-locked state makes you miss water.  As beautiful as Colorado is I sure wouldn’t mind if there were an ocean with a beach right in front of the mountains.  That’s not to much to ask, right? 😉  More pictures coming up soon!  And I promise we’ll get to the food part soon!

Mahalo y’all!

Oh my goodness, I would have been so scared to do that. Thankfully now that I’ve seen your pics, I don’t have to! Ha! That’s a once in a lifetime experience and it looks like you totally enjoyed it!

Heather, I am afraid of heights too…it is almost paralyzing! When my husband was on a property tour of a downtown building in Nashville – they took him to the roof and he got to stand on some ledge…I cried. I think all people should be as cautious as me. LOL. Hope you are having a BLAST in Kauai!! 🙂

Loved your photos, and landed here after seeing your comment on Smitten Kitchen. Sounds like you are head-over-heels in love with goat cheese. Oh wow, those pictures are breathtaking!!!!

I would be the same as you on that helicopter. I don’t view them as particularly safe and heights scare the hell out of me!!

Gorgeous pics! I’ve never been in a helicopter…not afraid of heights so much but just don’t think I’d stomach it well.

On another note, let’s all move to Hawaii, k?

Beautiful pics!! I don’t know if I’d be able to do it either due to my fear of flying. I heard helicopters are pretty rough so don’t think I’d ever go on one.

Beautiful. I’ve never been anywhere tropical or islandy (except Greece…but that was in April so it wasn’t beach weather) so thank you so much for sharing, Heather!
