Comfort Dinner with Friends

I have to be honest:  I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather lately.  To the point that food?  It just doesn’t sound good.

Yes, I know it sounds weird but I have to be truthful here.  I’m hoping that once my nose clears and I can smell again that eating food will sound good again, but for now it’s only good when I eat it.

Are you confused?  I am too…

ANYWAY, last night we had dinner over at Robbie and Stefanie’s house, something we were so excited about.  Robbie’s in the middle of his airline captain training, and we haven’t seen him in almost 3 weeks.  Plus Stef is an amazing cook, so I knew whatever we were going to eat would be amazing.  I was right!  Beef stroganoff with whole wheat noodles:

And a baked potato:

Salad was an option too, but in all honesty I was already too full for the potato and just went for it anyway.  It was so fun taking a break from cooking and spending time with our amazing friends that we love so dearly!

I’m hoping to be back tomorrow with some pretty amazing stuff, but for now I’m just thankful for the night off 🙂

Much love!

Heather

I love a classic baked potato. Although I’m a fan of sweet potatoes, I feel they have caused the regular potato to be neglected. How sad. 😉
    Feel better soon!

Beef stroganoff is Billy’s family’s go-to home cooked meal. It’s comforting for sure! I hope you are feeling better today.

Looks like a great dinner…even with your reduced desire for food 🙂
Since the nose plays such a large role in taste….it makes sense that nothing sounds like it would taste good! I did a flavor workshop once where we had to plug our nose and taste things—nothing tasted like anything at all!

Sorry you’re feeling sick! My husband’s sick today–must be that time of year. I’ve never had beef stroganoff, but it looks pretty good from that photo.

    Feel better!

Uh oh — feel better! I’m feeling under the weather too, but I’m in straight up denial about it. I have plans with friends tonight too, and I refuse to cancel! Glad you got a fun comfort food dinner while you’re feeling sick.

This has me craving a baked potato! It has been far too long since I had a good one with sour cream and cheese and… bacon…
