MARCH FAVORITES from @heathersdish

Favorites day! Everything here is completely unsponsored; these are just things I’ve been loving and want to share with y’all! Enjoy!

  1. Versailles. OK, so you should know that in February Nate and I watched all 7 existing seasons of Game of Thrones. We loved loved loved it, and so when the season 7 finale was over I went into this tailspin of trying to find a show that I could enjoy just as much as GOT. Spoiler alert: I haven’t found one. But I did get myself hooked on Versailles, which is about Louis XIV and his reign. I won’t say it’s as good as GOT, but about halfway through the first season I started to really enjoy it! A nice little change up from my normal British period dramas – ha!
  2. Beautycounter Daily Conditioner. Honestly I’m a fan of pretty much all of Beautycounter’s conditioners, but this was the one that originally made me fall in love with their haircare and I’m rediscovering how much I love it. It’s super clean, but moisturizing, and has a great citrus scent to it. Perfect for my hair’s needs!
  3. Xylosweet. In an effort to decrease the amount of sugar and sweet things we eat without instigating a mutiny in my house I turned to xylitol as a way to make the occasional little treat. I know you can buy this brand on Amazon, but I’ve been able to pick it up at Whole Foods at the same price! I just use it cup-for-cup like sugar and everything I’ve tried it on has turned out great. Bonus? No weird aftertaste like you get with other artificial sweeteners. And while I don’t see us using it super long term, it’s a nice way to get some sweetness in without the side effects of sugar!
  4. Windowsill Greenhouse. It’s no secret I love our little container garden, and this year I’m trying a few new things! First up is red vine malabar spinach, which is apparently this amazing spinach variety that climbs up a tomato cage, making it perfect for container gardening. YAY! We had fresh spinach growing up, and I love the idea of being able to make salads with this goodness! Next I’m hoping to have some fun with San Marzano tomatoes – maybe even getting some good canning in during the late summer? We’ll see – I don’t want to jinx myself. Regardless, to start the seeds I always grab these windowsill greenhouses from Jiffy to start my seeds in year after year. They’re so easy, and really fun to do with kids, plus they work like a charm every time!
  5. Birch Benders Paleo Pancake Mix. It’s no secret I make pancakes for my kiddos almost every morning, and while I was using this Kodiak Cakes mix (it’s still so good – we keep it on hand for these killer chocolate mug cakes) I am planning on moving our entire family onto a much more paleo-esque way of eating and this was one quick swap I could do to make that happen. This paleo pancake mix is SOOOOO easy, and tastes great! I promise if my picky 6-year-old can love it, ANYONE can love it! I still stir in a few mini chocolate chips because we don’t really do syrup over here, but otherwise it’s the simplest thing in the world!
