That’s about all I can say about the sickness that knocked me on my behind these past couple of days.  HOLY.  MOLY.  I really don’t know if I’ve ever been that sick with the exception of mono in college.  It all started last Tuesday afternoon/evening when I couldn’t stop coughing and just felt overall icky.  The next day I went to work for an hour and then had to go home, and the rest is history.  I went to the doctor and found out it’s the flu, but that there wasn’t really anything I could take at that point – just had to ride it out.  I’m feeling much better now, with huge thanks to this guy:

He’s now sick and I feel terrible…we even tried sleeping in different rooms and separating tooth brushes and everything!  I guess the incubation period is what matters though 🙁  I’d also like to thank my two personal bed-warmers:

I had a pretty high fever, so during my freezing cold moments the pups cuddled around me and trapped the heat in.  Thank goodness…otherwise I’m convinced I’d have frozen to death.  Next year I’m getting the flu shot the second it comes out.  For real.

Anyway, so sorry for the lack of posting, but I’m also not that sorry…I felt too terrible to shower, let alone cook, take photos, and blog about it.  Plus, living on a diet of chicken noodle soup, crackers, and Sprite is hardly conducive to food blogging.  As long as everything goes well today I should be back tomorrow with a recipe for you guys…but til then, thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes!  It’s nice to feel human again 😉

You have the cutest bed warmers! 🙂 They do make everything feel better. Glad to see you are on the uphill rise of the nasty flu. And don’t think just because you get a flu shot that you won’t get the flu!

Ah, the Booze Hound is currently battling his SECOND round of nastiness this season 🙁 Even though he’s a baby when he’s sick, I still feel bad! I didn’t get either of his plagues, so I’m counting my blessings! The Doberhound is keeping him warm in bed as I type 🙂

So glad you are feeling better. Aren’t doggies just the best? My husband travels a lot for work, and I don’t know what I’d do without her warming up the bed at night!

I hope you feel better! I got the flu pretty bad in December. I’ve never had a flu shot before but I think I’ll be getting one this year.

So happy to know you are feeling better Heather. We missed you.
Remember though to continue to try not to stretch yourself with life for a little while longer. Your body needs to be nurtured and pampered for a little longer. Let that immune system get back full strength. Tell Nate I’m hoping he will feel better soon.

Girl! I had the same thing and it was terrible. I haven’t had a fever in YEARs. It was 100-101 for five days. Mine started with a horrible headache, then cough, then the worst body aches of my life. After 5 days I felt much better but still felt somewhat crappy for the next week. Luckily Chris didn’t catch it…but then I got mini-sick again for like 2-3 days. NO fun! Hope you’re all better soon!

Glad youre feeling better! Nothin better than furbaby bedwarmers. Although, the one time I got the flu was the year I got the flu shot. I got a little sick from the shot, then I caught whatever strain was floating around that the shot didn’t prevent.
