This is going to be a simple one today guys, mainly because I’m really simple when it comes to accessorizing with jewelry. I like simple, basic pieces that will go with any/everything, and I really only like a few types of jewelry.
First up is earrings. These are really the only thing that change jewelry-wise for me, and I love finding great pieces that are both beautiful and comfortable. Want to know a secret? If I’m wearing dangly earrings then watch out – it’s a dress-up day. Otherwise I’m wearing simple (fake) diamond studs, which is 90% of the time.
When it comes to the cute dress-up stuff though, I really love these anchor earrings I got from Bel Monili. She has really great, classic and GORGEOUS stuff that’s completely reasonable! And I’m really into nautical these days, which means these earrings are kind of my favorite at the moment.
Another pair of favorites that have been favorites for a while – the tassel earrings from Beautiful & Beloved. This shop is great for many reasons, but my favorites are that the stuff is cute, it’s affordable, but most importantly it supports and empowers individuals who have been freed from slavery. I love these specific earrings because they are truly SO comfortable and I love the way they look with my hair up or down.
I threw these in the mix because the only jewelry I wear besides earrings are my wedding band/engagement band and Story’s ring. I do so much work with my hands (cooking/photography/toddler-wrangling) that I just can’t imagine wearing more than those three. Plus I’m not a statement jewelry kind of gal. Oh, I’ve tried, but it’s never felt right. But what DOES feel right is those simple, sweet, beautiful reminders of marriage and motherhood!
Finally, my newest addition to my jewelry collection are these sterling silver bullet earrings I got from Bourbon & Boots. Now I know you guys know me, but in the off chance that someone comes to this blog and thinks I’m making a political statement about gun control (y’all, I get some straaaaange comments from time to time) – I’M NOT. I just think they’re really beautiful, I love the two-tone coloring, and they are exactly the size of earring I really like to wear! They were more of an investment piece, but I really love them so far!
While I’m happy with my jewelry, there are times that I could definitely use a necklace, so I’m working on figuring out what I want in a necklace. Thoughts? What are your go-to jewelry pieces?!
Oh Heather–I just read the “Story’s Sky” entry from July, 2013–I somehow missed it until now. What a beautiful expression of feelings! I just cried like a baby reading it! Hugs! Love you!
i love Story’s ring and the wonderful meaning behind it. we had a miscarriage in december and i’ve been looking for a way to keep a little memory of our precious baby. thanks for the idea.
