Happy Thursday morning to you all!  Man, is it just me or has this week FLOWN by? I have my knee appointment this morning…YIKES!…so I’ll definitely keep y’all updated!

Dinner last night with Kraig & Amanda was so fun! I don’t know why we just haven’t been able to do it before, but hopefully we’ll be able to get together more often.  They have an amazing story, and are in the process of sharing their journey to adoption through their blog.  So yes, dinner = amazing.  We had hamburgers and bratwursts!  A vegetarian’s nightmare, but it was amazing.  I had one of each and some sweet potato fries:

I haven’t had a burger or brat since before I became a vegetarian for Lent, so this was heavenly.  Plus I was starving because of my light-yet-veggie-packed lunch!  The brat was amazing…

Reminds me of summer and made me thankful it’s right around the corner!  When we got home I put together some S’mores brownies by Jessica, did some blog reading, and then hit the sack!  This morning I woke up and tried my hand at some Pilates Sculpt, but there were a lot of squats and my knee just couldn’t handle it.  I decided I might as well just go snuggle with Nate and the pups instead 🙂  I made a new Green Monster this morning (that’s actually green)!  I present the Chocolate Peanut Butter Green Monster:

AH-MAY-ZING.  Here’s the mix:

  • 1 cup nonfat cow’s milk (or whatever milk you prefer)
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 packet Truvia
  • 2 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 medium banana
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/2-1 cup of ice cubes

Blend til smooth and enjoy!  At first I was kind of wary, but it just tastes so good once it hits the lips! 😉  That, coupled with some iced tea, was the perfect liquid breakfast!

I’m in a great mood today, even though I’m a little scared about going to the doctor.  I was telling Nate I’m scared of 2 things:

  1. I’m scared that it might be something serious that will require drastic measures to fix and;
  2. I’m also scared that it’s something that’s not a big deal and I’ll have spent all this time in pain because of something that would have been simple to fix.

I know those fears might be silly, but are still very real.  The appointment is at 10:30 MST, so I’ll make sure I’ll let you guys know via Twitter and then in my post later today about the results!

Have you ever been afraid to go to the doctor?  Why (if you want to share)?  Were your fears founded or just something silly, like me being afraid I’ll just be embarrassed because it’s no big deal? The only other time I’ve been really nervous to go to the doctor was when I had mono.  I didn’t REALLY know that I had it, but deep down I did, and just didn’t want to hear the bad news!

Sigh. I really wish I had a grill…burgers are calling my name! 🙂 Also, your recipe is the first that has made me want to try making a green monster…I will have to give it a shot next time we buy spinach!

Bratwursts are our favorite go-to meal when we want something yummy and fast!

There have been a few times I was afraid to go to the doctor. After the Shamrock 8K, I had pain in my ankle. I was afraid to go to the doc and have her tell me my running days were over. 🙁 Luckily, she said to take a week off and that was it.

I’m not really afraid to go to the doctor.. I’ve been so many times that it’s really not a big deal. Sometimes I do try to avoid it but really, you should just go and find out what’s wrong (if something is wrong) and take care of it as soon as possible.

I have gotten all worked up with worries when going to the doctor, but usually find that I had no reason to worry or if something really is wrong, then the doctor and I can handle it. I am sure you are in good hands. Take care.

Ahh summer. This will be my first “grilling out” season as a vegetarian. *tear!* Can you grill a veggie burger? LOL

I think most Drs would put me in the “difficult Patient” category. I need to now the why and what to every word that they say… oh and I am anti medication and always ask for the natural remedy.. Doc don’t like that so much

I love sweet potato fries! Those look amazing!

yes, I hate going to the DR when I have to get shots! I have to go in a couple of weeks to get a cyst removed (gross)…I’m SO scared of the numbing shot!!!

I always get worried before I go to the doctor. It seems like I convince myself it’s going to be terrible news..but it never is! 🙂 Good luck at your appointment today!

I do the same thing with going to the doctor’s. When I hurt my knee and they wanted to do an MRI I was getting nervous nothing would be wrong and I was wasting everyone’s time. But you’ve been having this pain for so long and you know your body! Even if it’s something small, hopefully you can get some exercises to do and the peace of mind it’s not something serious. If it’s serious, well at least you won’t be doing further damage. Good luck and don’t stress too much!

I hope the smores brownies are a hit! I hate going to the doctor. I am always convinced something is wrong with me. However, I try to imagine how much worse it could be. That usually makes me feel better.
