Healthy Chocolate-Covered Cherry Smoothie from HeathersDish.com

Smoothies.  They’re so good and yet I never make them anymore.  Why is this?  I have no idea – other than cleaning my blender, which isn’t even really that big of a pain.  And Weston thinks the sound of the blender is hilarious.  Even more reason, right?

I guess I need to say this though:  I don’t usually like a typical smoothie with banana and frozen fruit.  They’re OK, but if I’m going to put in the effort to make a smoothie I’m probably wanting something sweet and trying to be “good” about it.  Which means I probably want chocolate.  Which means that I want a good fruit that goes with chocolate.

Enter the chocolate covered cherry smoothie.  I think it’s kind of sexy because, well, it’s chocolate-covered PLUS it makes me feel good, which is also sexy.  Win-win!  And with Valentine’s Day around the corner I’m thinking I’ll take all the sexy I can get!

This looks great! I was sitting here brainstorming ideas for V-day breakfasts that were healthier than chocolate chip pancakes, and I thought…chocolate covered cherry smoothie! So I googled it to see if it existed and here I am! Can’t wait to try (and blog) about your fantastic recipe!

I’ve purchased them at several places, but usually I get them at Kroger or Walmart! Dole is the most common one I’ve found!

And if you don’t have cherries, frozen strawberries or a frozen banana work well too!

I do not use cherries in my smoothies, desserts, or dishes. I am OBVIOUSLY missing the mark. Adding it to the grocery list NOW and seeing how I can incorporate this delicious smoothie into a morning routine. Dessert for breakfast at 200 calories? Sure, why not!? 😉
