Happy Friday!!! [insert Friday Dance here] 🙂 How are you all doing this fine, foggy, Friday morning?
I had another fantastic Green(ish) Monster today:
This one was super frothy again! Fun with froth:
- 1 cup nonfat milk, 1/3 cup oats, 1/4 cup low fat plain yogurt – soaked for 20 minutes while i got ready
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/3 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 banana
- 2 cups fresh spinach
- 6 ice cubes
All whirled together for about a minute to make sure it’s not chunky (just that word gives me the heebyjeebies)! I drank it on the way to work, mmmmmm-ing the whole way 🙂 It also made me incredibly full, which I suppose is a good thing. We’ll see if this lasts a little longer than the other GMs since I added a wee bit more oatmeal! I also had some tea with a great message on it:
“Those who live in the past limit their future.”
This is so true! I can think of so many times where I was willing to give up because I was so focused on failures in the past that I didn’t even begin to look forward to the present and future! We’re funny creatures sometimes, aren’t we? We’ve been blessed with incredible intelligence and knowledge, and yet we let the smallest and most unchangeable things stand in the way OF THE ONE LIFE WE HAVE ON THIS EARTH. That, my friends, is really not that intelligent 🙂
So today I’d like to challenge you all to think back to a time where you felt like you failed. Think about how crappy it was, how you felt like you would never ever again be happy, how you let that affect your life, and how it has limited your future thus far. Not pretty right? Now’s the time to shed that. I don’t have a how-to for that, but think about your future in this short life. Do you believe that it needs to be riddled with the insecurities of the past? NO! You are a strong, beautiful, amazing person. You deserve to find happiness and to not allow yourself to live in the past but to push onward into the future. Be the person you were born to be!
I hope y’all don’t mind the (hopefully) inspirational talk – I just keep coming the the realization over and over again that we only have one chance on this Earth, and the reality is there’s no “right” way to live life. However, I do believe that the “wrong” way is to just let it pass you by without being faithful, being thankful, and taking a chance on yourself. What’s the most inspiring thing you’ve heard or realized so far this year? This week? Feel free to link back to notes/posts/articles!
Happy Friday!
For me, the most inspirational thing I’ve heard recently was the message at Watermark about worrying. I worry all the time about mom and dad, my friends, Chad etc. but I don’t seem to worry about school or anything that I have control of. So, instead of sitting there doing what I can do then letting God take hold of my life and let Him just do his thang, I tend to try to do it all myself when that’s just not possible.
I started my day with a green monster too!
Gosh that is a tough question…….I did have some scary news about my health this week that has started me thinking about the reality that this is it-no do overs….enjoy it now.
Loving the inspiration, Heather! You’re so right – life is short and we deserve to be happy and the people we want to be.
I’m a total believer in fate, and I think it was fate for you to post this today and for me to read it! Yesterday I got caught up thinking about some failures of my past, and I started feeling really discouraged. This post was exactly what I needed – a reminder that the past is behind me and I have the strength to move on from it. Thank you for posting this! 🙂
This morning I came across this quote:
“Every time you judge yourself, you break your own heart.”
Today, I am vowing not to judge myself! Like you said, we all deserve happiness.
Ha, Yogi tea sayings are so much fun! The current one stuck to my monitor is “Inspiring others toward happiness brings you happiness.”
Hey Heather!! Happy Friday!
I haven’t been able to make it to the gym to get my workouts in, and I realized that its ok! I don’t have to stick to a strict schedule or make it so many times, as long as I am getting my exercise in. I had a problem with exercise guilt, but slowly I am getting over it.
Great post!!
LOVE IT!!! 🙂
I posted this week on people’s favorite motivation quotes and I got some good ones:
