Today at Faces of Beauty we have Samantha from Bikini Birthday! Go say hi and be inspired!
Y’all, I’m feeling extra Texan after this weekend of eats and football! It’s funny, I feel 100% Texan and 100% Coloradan at this point…guess that kind of makes me a hybrid, right? But really, these eats you really only find consistently in the great state:
Watermelon (super sweet and face-rocking):
Bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapenos (need I say more?)
Smoked cheese (it’s a Nate specialty):
Now here’s an example of something you WON’T find in Texas: a crappy margarita. All I’m saying is that when homegirl says, “No salt” she means none on the rim and most CERTAINLY none mixed into it!
But that restaurant made up for it with great crispy chips:
And a trio of salsa that lit my mouth on fire and captured this girl’s heart. I maintain that salsa’s not salsa unless you start to sweat uncontrollably.
Thank goodness I still have another whole day of weekend left! It’s going to be spent cooking, shopping, hiking, and otherwise having a great time. Hope yours is too!
We had bacon wrapped jalapenos this weekend too! Amazing!
Smoked cheese + jalapeno is always a success! 😉 Nate knows what he’s doin’.
Sorry about the margarita! I hope you sent it back because it looks like it would be delicious without the salt!
Your food looks fab as always. 🙂
Chips and dips are always on my tailgating menu, mmm!
I Hate salt on my margaritas! blech.
Those bacon wrapped jalapenos look divine. My husband would be in foodie heaven with those above eats!
Yummm! Looks like some great eating. My good friend married a Texan last year and all his friends were cooking up those bacon wrapped stuffed jalepenos prior to the wedding. Soooo hot, but sooo good 🙂 Have fun
I’m not a fan of bad margs….I prefer to make my own if I do choose to drink b/c I’m picky. I love a nice spicy salsa 🙂
I love watermelon. Not a big fan of spicy foods, but the smoked cheese looks good!
Great looking eats 🙂
You should come back to Texas with me and I will show you some real tex-mex!
Aah, tortilla chips and margaritas. Seriously, one of the best combos known to man kind. Well, besides peanut butter and chocolate, of course 😀
Have a great Labor Day! Looks like some great eats!
I agree about salt in margaritas… no thank you!
Girl, you are much braver than I with the hot stuff. I can only take spicy up to a point;) That smoked cheese is beckoning me in a very scary way. Need it now!
Yeah, there are definitely things that Texas just gets RIGHT…and margaritas are one of them 🙂
Sounds like you have a great start and finish to the weekend…love it all. Mine will be topped off with tennis and steaks on the barby…ahhhhh.
Aww Texas and football, gotta love it! Too bad we still have that Texas heat, but I guess that why we have MARGARITAS. yea!
I haven’t had those bacon wrapped jalapenos in so long but I loooovvveee them. LOL
And margs are my favorite adult beverage. I’m so picky about them though. I do like salt and I like them strong. I hate when you get one that tastes like all mix. I want to taste the tequila!
I had a frozen margarita yesterday for the first time in AGES and it was SO good.. no salt for this girl, either!
Glad you are enjoying the long weekend!! Bacon wrapped jalapenos look so yum!!
Oh I love the salt on Margaritas! But sorry they messed it up — I do not like when my order is wrong 🙁
Those bacon wrapped jalepenos look amazing! I had bacon wrapped scallops at a wedding on Sat and those were super delicious!
How fun is this! I’m liking Texas more now that summer is wrapping up! This post cracks me up because we are moving to Colorado from Dallas. I’m am THRILLED, but I know there are somethings that I will miss about Texas. Maybe I will have to drive you down a watermelon!
I hate when I get a crappy margarita… seriously!
Ohmygosh the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos sound awessssome!
I love salt on my margaritas, I miss them! 🙂
I also love having an extra weekend day!!! Enjoy yours 🙂
