First: isn’t my new ukulele pretty? I’m going to rock that thing…promise to post videos when that happens 🙂 So as much as I was hoping to feel better now that I’m in the second trimester…well, let’s just say I hadn’t seen anything yet. Monday was ROUGH, yesterday was hard, and we’ll just see what today brings. BUT one of the funniest things about pregnancy for me has been the random things that have made me cry. Not the truly touching things I’d cry about anyway, but the weird stuff that made me text a sweet friend yesterday the exact words, “God bless Nate for putting up with this stuff!”
- The time I cried because my gum was too minty. Yes, this happened. We were in the car and the minty-ness of my gum was too much and I started to gag. Then I cried. Nate’s eyes got wide and he didn’t say anything…
- The time I cried because I was watching Elf in September and wanted to adopt orphan Buddy myself. Yes. Now granted I cry about orphan care anyway – something very dear to my heart – but I know the story. I’ve seen this movie a billion times. Except never with this reaction…
- The time I cried because it smelled like pine trees after the rain and I was so happy. I was alone for this one, except for the poor gal walking into the grocery store behind me…maybe she doesn’t read the blog?
- The time I cried because I couldn’t remember where I put my tennis shoes. They were on my feet.
- The time I cried because I didn’t have the ingredients to make the meatloaf I was craving. Y’all, I live less than half a mile from the store, but you would have thought it was 50 miles. Luckily I got it together and 5 minutes later had the ketchup in hand.
- The time I cried because I dreamed we were vacationing in Hawaii and then I woke up at 3:45 to a neighbor’s car alarm going off. Not sure if Nate was pretending to be asleep or not, but I’m hoping that little bit of crazy stayed hidden from him…
- The time I cried because my dog wouldn’t stop licking her dog bed. I couldn’t bring myself to get mad at her but I was annoyed beyond words. Hence the tears.
- The time I cried because I currently hate brushing my teeth and it was time to get ready for bed. This goes with #1, but mint is NOT my friend right now. Gag city.
- The time I cried because I accidentally erased Cars from our DVR. Moms of boys, I know you’ll get this, but I waited SO LONG to finally record this movie for Wes and then instead of keeping it I pressed ‘delete.’ Wes sure was looking at me weird, but I don’t think he’s noticed it’s gone…
- The time I cried because my last pepper on my pepper plant died. Y’all, I wasn’t even planning on eating that guy, and I probably would have gagged if I tried. But still. SAD.
Any funny pregnancy cries to share? It doesn’t have to be yours…maybe you experienced someone else’s temporary insanity 🙂 Share!

Hilarious! I cried when I couldn’t find lemonhead candies when I was craving them with my first! Then, my husband and I were at a different store and miraculously found then and he brought them to the check out line…carrying them triumphantly over his head like a trophy and I cheered! The lady in line behind my looked at me funny until I told her I was pregnant and craving them at which point she gave me a solidarity smile 🙂

HA! I love it – I can just picture you cheering in the store 🙂 AWESOME!

Oh gosh, I think #10 is my favorite. You weren’t even going to eat it. Hilarious.
I think my silliest pregnancy related cry came during my first week post partum with Owen. My mom had brough up a box of new clothes for him (most of his clothes were borrowed, which is how it SHOULD be and I’m normally fine with). But I was so happy to celebrate him with some new clothes that as I opened the box, I thought to myself: I should check the seasons on these to make sure they’ll fit at the right time.
Days later, in an exhausted fog, I started clipping tags off the clothes to wash them when I realized I hadn’t checked the sizes. I started BAWLING and telling Eric how unlucky Owen was to be ours and how we didn’t even have nice things for him.
Eric just kind of sat there in stunned slience 🙂

Hahaha I think the hubby’s reactions are probably the best part. Nate has looked at my belly several times and said, “GIVE ME MY WIFE BACK!” ha!

hahaha this post makes me laugh so hard :-). It’s in our blood to cry at everything. I feel like everything tiny little thing makes me cry. I was running the other day and was admiring the sunset coming over the hills and I lost it…..I mean big time (and no I’m not pregnant :-)).
I love you sister!!

Oh sister, just you wait 🙂 I know you’re going to have some funny ones coming your way when it’s your time!

I totally bought a ukelele too! Have I had time to learn? Absolutely not. Let me know if you want to start an all-girl uke duo. Hope you feel better soon!

Time shmime 🙂 I can just learn from osmosis, right? 🙂

Oh, girl. I’m right there with you! If I sit down and think about it, I could probably come up with more than a few random/weird things that have made me cry this pregnancy. Praying for you to feel better soon! 🙂
