This is one of my single-most viewed recipe ever on this site, and y’all? I must admit I’m pretty stoked about it. First of all, honey mustard dressing comes second only to a spicy, garlicky Ranch dressing if you ask my Texas-loving self. A great honey mustard is great on almost every foodstuff in the world, minus dessert. And honey mustard is one of the simplest dressings you can make at home by yourself. Vinaigrettes are super simple and highly adaptable, but can require a lot of different vinegars and oils to really spruce up an old stand-by. But honey mustard? Never needs to change.
A few things of note: this is honey MUSTARD. That means it is mustard-y in flavor. If you prefer something sweeter, either add more honey or use less mustard…whichever you prefer. But know that it will taste like mustard. Another thing is that you should always use local honey (actually most ingredients for most things should be locally sourced when you can do it) because it helps with allergies. Did you know that? I know that eating local honey this year has really lessened my allergic reactions – I can testify to it!
