Good morning everyone! First off, I feel the need to apologize for the bad lighting in some of the following pictures. It was a great night of food, but apparently eating good food out means bad lighting for pictures. Just sayin’ is all 🙂
SOOOOO, we ended up going to Via Toscana last night with Jason, Steph, Arlene (Steph’s mom), Robbie, and Stef, and it was AMAZING!!! The Med is a great place too, but this place had even better deals without the hassle of dealing with traffic in downtown Boulder. The happy hour menu is online, but here’s my special little copy:
I got the $2 Roasted Red Pepper Cream Soup (‘scuse me while I wipe the drool off of my desk):
Sampled some marinated olives:
A piece of bruschetta (obvi, it’s only one of my favorite things EVER):
And got a little $3 eggplant panini with arrabiata sauce for dipping:
Y’all, this place is amazing. Nate and I spent $20 total (that’s for my meal, his food, 2 beers, and tip) which is a steal! It was so fun to see Robbie & Stef again, too – they’ve been in Mexico for a week! Lucky kids 🙂 We ran home to feed the dogs, drop our stuff off, and head out again. We went to Baker Street Pub for some pool with Jason & Steph, Arlene, and TJ & Brenda.
Nate and I split a little cone of fries:
And I had a Deschuttes Black Butte Porter (aka ‘heaven in a glass’). Sorry for the blurry picture 🙂
We had a lot of fun…Steph and Brenda are both pregnant (can you say “baby fever”?) I got to sit and listen to them talk about the changes their bodies are going through and hear the excitement in their voices. I know Nate and I aren’t planning on trying for kids until another year from now at least, but it’s definitely something that I’m becoming more and more comfortable with. I used to think I didn’t want kids (the thought of gaining weight FREAKED.ME.OUT) but about a year into marriage I realized that I can’t wait to raise children with my husband 🙂 What about you? Do you want kids? Or not? We all have our choice to make, and there’s certainly no right or wrong answer!
This morning I got up and did Whittle My Middle, and then started on a yoga workout that proved to be too difficult, so I didn’t finish it. That made me feel like a major slacker, but I sat down and just stretched instead. As I said yesterday, I’ve noticed that when I stretch out my legs – specifically hamstrings – my knee doesn’t hurt when I do my cardio later on. Even though I hate not finishing things, I think it was good for me to just sit and stretch instead. Afterwards I did a Purple Monster (same as the Green(ish) Monster sans strawberries and added 1 Tbsp of flax meal):
And a big glass of iced coffee:
On the way to work today we were talking about our dogs as though they were our children, which of course is a completely normal thing to do. Right? Right. Nate mentioned that Keira probably would talk like a younger Queen Latifah if she could speak…he feels like she would be able to spread that sassiness 🙂 I laughed SO HARD at that, but mainly because I realized that we were talking about our DOGS. We couldn’t figure out what Bunker would sound like though…maybe a mix of Denzel Washington and Jamie Foxx? Yes, I’m serious 🙂 Anyway, it was a great start to the day – the conversation made me smile and now every time I look at my dogs I can’t help but laugh a little bit!
If you have pets, do you ever give them voices or personalities? What kind of pet do you have? What voice have you superimposed on them before? I think I’m going to be laughing at the comments a little later on this one… 🙂

Yummy eats, those olives made me drool 🙂
I’ve never had the desire to have kids myself (might come later, though…) but many of my friends already have and I enjoy their kids a lot and I’m always saying I’m practising with their children before I decide do I want to own 🙂

Bunker would totally be like Donkey from Shrek….definitely…loveable, friendly, and a bit crazy…Nate was spot on with Keira sounding like Queen Latifah. I wonder what arnie would sound like…..maybe a mix between Dori from Finding Neemo and Chip from Beauty and the beast…lol

When my cat was younger I always gave him gangster voices and say ridiculous stuff, including cussing and disrespecting women. 😉 It was too much effort for me to keep up though. It was too hard for me to be creative like that all the time!

My husband gives my dog Bagigis a voice too!! It’s really high pitched and she sounds a bit dumb. Her best line is: “I do what I want!”
I burst out laughing when I read about your dog’s voice!

1) Yes! I want to have kids! Someday. I’m in no position to have ’em right now but in the future. I used to think it was the scariest thing ever but now I realize it is the scariest thing ever but worth it (at least what everyone says :-P)
2) I’ve never thought of a celeb voice for my dog but now I will!
Estela @ Weekly Bite says
I think the biggest fear for all women is gaining too much weight while pregnant.
I felt that way too… but I’ll tell you… it’s SOOO WORTH IT!!!

One on the way–any day now!!

neh, i don’t want kids. 😉 ha! just kidding! i love my two precious boys more than anything. 🙂
i had two fur-babies before i had kids and i was the “mom” who had professional pics made with them and carried them in my purse at the grocery store. yep, that was me. they absolutely got pushed to the proverbial back burner once i had real kids. i will openly admit that i’m not a great pet parent anymore. 🙁 if bailey could talk he would sound like the “yo quiero taco bell” chihuahua and if punkin pie could talk, she would sound like juliette lewis’ character in “the other sister”.
glad y’all had fun for jason’s b-day! wish we could’ve made it.
i give you and nate 6 months tops before you start trying. 😉

Rebecca, you better be careful…I read this thing too! 🙂

No kids for us but we do have 2 fur kids. =)
We imagine our Great Dane with the voice of a 5-year old sometimes. haha He’s so goofy and sweet.
Our cat has a very authoritative voice and we just know he only refers to us as “human”.
“Feed me, human.” lol
Christie @ Honoring Health says
My husband and I do not plan to have children. We are content with our three cats 😀

All of these restaurants sound yummy. I must check them out. If you haven’t yet, you absolutely have to try D-Bar in uptown on 17th and Vine.. holy heavenly

I was never sure one way or the other about when we would have kiddos. One day, without any previous kiddo discussion, my husband looked at me and said “I am ready for a baby.” I was like “okay.” 5 months later I was pregnant. I would not change that decision for anything! Our little man is awesome – the absolute best thing that has ever happened to us : )
Now you have me thinking! Not sure who Harley would sound like!

That picture of you is so cute! Love it!!

I just finished eating lunch.. but your photos made me hungry…
The Ice coffee pic makes me freeze.. I am not much of a cold drink person.. and the thought of anything with ice in it makes me shiver.
Last year.. between Feb and April I had 15 friends who had a baby. YUP 15! That meant 15 baby shower gifts.. that’s right I went broke. We don’t have kids YET.. but I would love to have one (i just hope my 15 friends remember me when it is my time 😉 ).
I love our Sadie.. when I look at her I see a little girl not a dog… I haven’t given her voice… but I can feel her talking to me through her eyes..

I think my toothless boxer Roxie would sound similar to Barbara Walters, you know, lispy! And my greyhound Raina would have a calm, pleasant voice, maybe Kate Winslet without an accent??
The food looked great, btw; wish we had places like that in west Texas!
Kelly says
Yes! My dogs definitely have voices. Harry is a shih-tzu, he has a sleepy older man voice, usually he says, “I’m so tiiiiired.”
