Even though we’ve already gone on and on about how great local peaches are, and how great does a peach pie sound right now?! I know I’m very much dreaming of the cobblers and pies to come this summer – especially with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
So yesterday Wes and I drove to Austin, just the two of us, and I have to say that I feel like much more of a mothering pro and mothering fail at the same time. Mothering pro because y’all, I drove for 10 hours in the car with a 2-year-old. Need I say more? Mothering fail because I totally yelled at him a couple times and lost my temper. Not cool, Heather, not cool. I guess we’re both still learning though.
I guess mothering and peach pies don’t have much in common other than that’s what’s going on in my life and mind these days. Had I had access to one of these sweet smoothies in the midst of the screaming kicking fits I may not have lost my temper, but to let’s be honest – I probably would have. But then I would have offered some to my boy as I apologized. How’s that for full-circle, huh?
In all seriousness though this peach pie smoothie is a great way to satisfy that peach pie craving without the guilt. Not that you should feel bad about enjoying a sweet peach dessert, but I’m just saying – you can have this smoothie whenever. Y’all enjoy!
PEACH PIE SMOOTHIE
- 1 cup milk of choice (I like unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
- 1 cup frozen peach slices
- 3 dried figs
- pinch of cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- pinch of ginger
Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
Yay for Austin! 🙂
I am so all over this smoothie! My hubby loves smoothies and peaches, so he is gonna be totally into this. Love the ginger addition …so good with peaches! Pinned 🙂
