Joyce is on Faces of Beauty today with a beautiful story!
I don’t expect you to already know this, but I’m a tad bit obsessed with Nutella. And I don’t expect anyone to know this because I haven’t quite advertised it yet. But today I’m stepping out with my newest addiction…after all I had to find something to replace coffee with!
I remember when we first met…me a goofy college sophomore dressed in workout clothes, him a sweet and confident hazelnut spread dressed in a clear plastic jar. My roommate was trying to get us together, although I was hesitant because I thought he was just like that hoodlum Vegemite. In reality I didn’t know either of them but I didn’t know if they were alike or not.
Finally after a night of Friends re-runs and coffee my roommate brought him out on a piece of toast, and I was hooked after one bite. Although our trysts have been few and far between (I tend to get addicted to him too easily) the love has remained and is something that I passed on to my husband. Little did I know that he would find a girl more perfect for him than me:
Sure I think she’s a floozy for being better for him than I am but I guess I’ll get over it. Even if she is a little tart.
HOWEVER this morning I found a way to bring us all together, a vehicle so extraordinarily simple that I can’t believe I never thought of it before. Friends, meet Mini Croissant:
Now ready yourselves for a combination so powerful that we could all experience spontaneous combustion…I kid you not.
Even though Bonne Maman, Mini Croissant and I are great together,
And Nutella (my love!), Mini Croissant and I are fantastic together,
I just had to think, “What if we all became a big, happy family?”
And then (prepare yourselves) it happened: I made a sandwich.
A sandwich so buttery and ooey and gooey that none will ever take its place.
A sandwich so rich it would make a grown man cry.
A sandwich so out of this world that no sandwich will ever top it.
A sandwich so powerful that I had no choice but to eat 3 of them this morning. That’s right. 3. I don’t know if you know this but croissants, Nutella, and Bonne Maman are not low-calorie.
Not that it mattered in my 7 minutes in heaven though.
All I have to say now is you’re welcome and good luck saying no. And I’m off to eat the rest of the croissants.
FIN.
I love my Nutella on a ricecake! GOOD TIMES!!!
I love nutella. I just had some this morning on a biscuit!
I too love Nutella, lovely read. First time to this beautiful place, hope to come here more often for these lovely treats. Best wishes.
I was struggling with ideas for a brownie to make this afternoon, and because of this post I made chocolate hazelnut brownies. Having just eaten one, I can say that was a very very very good choice
i’m so glad you did! now want to send me some? 🙂
I’ll just have to try this delicious sounding treat. What could ever be wrong with cherry and chocolate?!! Not much on Crossisants ,as they are full of calories and I’m always fighting the calorie deamon. Having always, but a few years of my life been overweight for my height, I rationalized that whole grain bread was healthier and very fine tasting to me. Just for you friend, Heather, I will try it and report!
Oh Nutella. How you have stolen my heart. I consider it a food of the gods, so that means it’s a “super food” right? 😉
I’m such a wh*re for Nutella I’ve been known to eat with a spoon, standing in the kitchen with the light off. Really. I recently married Fluff with Nutella and I nearly died. The light airiness of pure sugar against the creamy chocolate spread? Mmmm….
I adore Nutella. I think it would be one of the only things that I just cannot keep my grubby paws off when its in my kitchen. I can have chocolate, baked goods, and so much more staring me in the face and it not bother me. Nutella though? I keep sneaking spoonfuls.
Cute post! I have to say I narrowly escaped buying Nutella at the store yesterday. I also have an addiction. They say admitting it is the first step.
Hahhaha. Love this. Those mini croissants are so cute. And I’m picturing them speaking to me with French accents. A must-try flavor combo.
I can’t buy Nutella because I’ll eat it up before I have a chance to spread it on anything. Oh, and I’d skip the jelly in the combo above. It’s nice and all but I like full-on Nutella flavor. Yes, I’m kind of sick.
I’ve looked at Nutella several times when I’ve been at the grocery store, picked it up and looked at the calories, and just haven’t been able to bring myself to buying it. Peanut butter-type foods are one of my weaknesses, and I know if I tried it, I’d be hooked, and have a hard time going overboard!
Love this! I have a love affair with Nutella too. I kinda wanna go home now and make that sandwich.
I heard of Nutella all my life, but have never tried it. But it looks very good, so I’ll have to get some. Thanks for sharing.
Suzanne
LOVE Nutella….I don’t allow myself to buy it b/c I have absolutely NO control when its around me at all! lol
Nutella = crack.
Oh Nutella…. I was just introduced to you a few years ago, but oh what a relationship we’ve had!
I am not a huge fan of Nutella (I know, I’m weird), but on a croissant it sounds incredible.
Lol…too cute. I was in college the first time I tried Nutella too! My roommate brought some back from Germany, and I was AMAZED by it. Still am, actually 🙂
Nutella is great with just about any ingredients. I love pairing it with bananas… or possibly eating it with a spoon, straight from the jar.
YUM. 🙂 Have you ever tried hot Nutella? My in-laws introduced me. Just put some almond/soy/cow milk in a mug, add a big spoonful of Nutella, and heat in the microwave until warm. Stir it up, and you’ve got liquid Nutella…so good!
BAhhahaa! Cute- I love this!
