BBQ Chicken Pizza

Today Heather is on Faces of Beauty!  Come say hi!

Here’s a newsflash for you:  in this house, pizza is king.

Nate and I have even considered doing a “pizza month” where we have pizza of some kind every.single.day.

Yes, we’re serious.  And yes that idea is still on the table.  Don’t judge me.

This week I decided it had been too long since I last made homemade pizza, and thus decided that BBQ chicken pizza was the way to go.  I chopped up some red bell pepper, purple onion, and rotisserie chicken.  Heaven.

Now granted this pizza isn’t completely homemade.  In fact none of it is.  I just made it at home.  Whatever.

The dough from Whole Foods is really perfect for a quick cooking dinner!  I love the grainy kind…lots of seeds and grains!  It’s all about the texture.

A side note on BBQ sauce.  I’m pretty picky about my sauce, being from Texas and all.  It has to be sweet, spicy, smoky, and all manners of amazing.  Turns out that’s tough to find if you don’t just make it yourself!  I’ve found that the best store-bought sauce I’ve found is Sweet Baby Ray’s.  I mean, with a name like that how could you go wrong?

Spread the sauce, top with chicken, cheese and veggies.

Consider eating it raw because it smells good.

Decide against doing that because you are an adult after all.

Besides it only takes about 15 minutes at 450 to be done.  Just enough time to grab a drink.  I’m talking about water of course.

Guys, I’m telling you:  it’s a miracle I only ate two slices for dinner that night.  I convinced myself that it would be worth it to save the other 2 for lunch.  I don’t know what was wrong with me, but the leftovers were fabulous too!

So now’s the time where I admit I’m a total slacker and forgot to post the winner of the Saucy Mama sauce contest!  I’m so sorry guys…it’s been a busy week…

Julie girl! Please email me your address and I’ll ship out your sauces, mustard, and olives!  Believe me, you won’t even know which one to start with 🙂

Happy Friday y’all!

Mmmm… this pizza looks so wonderful! I just made “homemade” pizza last night w/ whole wheat dough from Trader Joe’s. It was good, but I’ll have to give the Whole Foods one a try.

I’m Natalie by the way 🙂 I’m new to your blog and happy to have stumbled upon you!
