Today on Faces of Beauty is Megan with a very real story. Have you sent in your submission yet?!
Y’all, this weekend was crazy busy and crazy slow all at the same time. Friday night we spent watching The Bounty Hunter with Nate and I simultaneously drooling over Gerard Butler. Sorry Ms. Anistan!
Saturday we did our maternity shoot, then spent the afternoon shopping and napping. I kept it real by going to a local high school football game with my good friend Amy. She’s a teacher. I don’t have an excuse.
Yesterday I wore myself out serving with the kids at church. Always fun, always exhausting.
There were Rachel Ray recipes that were made, which reminded me that I actually like most of her stuff and I really like the things that only require 5 ingredients. Pretty stellar!
My dogs tried to eat our food. Totally normal.
And yes, I use our hot tub as the thing I take most of my pictures on. So what?
I found that I didn’t totally kill the forget-me-nots that I planted in July. Turns out my thumb is only a half-dead shade of brown rather than completely black.
This week is going to be balls-to-the-wall (yes I said balls on the blog), and I already can’t wait til next weekend! Did y’all do anything fun? Let’s hear it!
Carrie says
I forgot about forget-me-nots, silly, I know. But it’s true. I would love to grow some on my balcony. I only have one flower growing and the rest are all tomatoes and cucumbers…with a few bug infested plants on the side. Oops.

Had a busy tennis tourny called SlamFest and the ProAm tournament the same weekend. Mine was a round robin (fundraiser) for the Learning Center and the ProAm featured the college guys from TT, UT, SMU and St. Edwards. They were awesome to watch Saturday night with our great weather. Great athletes, good shape and good looking…the guys for Tech were from Brazil…beautiful skin!
Michelle (Delightfully Dietetic) says
Aww what a cute pup. Lab?
Heather says
Had a good weekend hangin with my daughter at her soccer game and going grocery shopping. All the veggies and fruit in my cart made me giddy!! 🙂
Bianca @ Confessions of a Chocoholic says
I love Rachel Ray and I feel bad that she gets so much flack from foodies. Those flowers are PRETTY!
Megan says
I think crazy, busy has become a norm around here for us. We just did Fall kick-off at church here and I added another 4 hours a week to my already too busy schedule. But, hey, gotta love being a part of everything, even if it wears you out! I have to admit though, I am completely jealous of your hot tub. (and dogs, so adorable!)
Amber from Girl with the Red Hair says
Pretty flowers! I had a FABULOUS weekend, thanks for asking! 😉
Tina says
I feel like my weekend was the same way. Exhausting but fun and relaxing too? Although with how I feel today you would think I ran a marathon. LOL
Angela @ Life given says
This weekend was pure relaxation. Just got to be home for once. And I have to say, your dogs look like such sweetie pies. There such a great addition to the family annoying or not:)
Aimee says
I miss having a hot tub! Your so lucky! 🙂
Sounds like a fab weekend.
Joslyn @ missfitbliss says
Great pics! This weekend was mostly spent celebrating fall. It was chilly for the first time and I’m soooooo excited!
TheHealthyApron says
Are you pregnant? If so, CONGRATS! I didn’t realize! How did I miss that!
Heather says
Nope, not pregnant! Still have a while til that goes down 🙂
Lauren says
Rachel Ray has some great recipes! Quick easy and delicious! What everyone looks for.
Good luck this week but I’m right there with you on the balls-to-the-wall!
Sarah for Real says
I also love 5 ingredient recipes, except then the pressure is on to get THE best ingredients.
I’m jealous of your hot tub.
The end.
LiveForTheRun says
Well by all means, go balls out! The hot-tub pic cracked me up.
This weekend was awesome, celebrating a friend’s birthday. Ahh, but too short!
Katie @ Health for the Whole Self says
I love that you take your photos on the hot tub…especially b/c your photos are so awesome. 🙂
Jean@RoastedRootsandPumpkinSpice says
balls to the wall!! Haha, my roommate and I say that phrase all the time now after we picked it up from Bethenny from NYC Housewives.
The forget-me-nots are so pretty!
J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) says
The hot tub makes a perfect setting, I’d totally use it, too!!
I like Rchael Ray’s recipes too. Actually, I like all of Food Network’s hosts’ recipes, LOL.

Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
Rachel Ray has definitely grown on me in the past few months. She used to really irritate me (I still don’t like EVOO) but she does have good recipes.
Ooohh, and how was “The Bounty Hunter”???? I really want to see it!! I mean, it has Gerard Butler in it.
Brittany (A Healthy Slice of Life) says
Love your pup!! 🙂
And is that broccolini I spy? YUM! I gotta pick some up!
Salah says
I want a hot tub! haha I don’t use any specific background for my pictures! This weekend I might be going to AUstin for a photoshoot and apt. hunting :-)…maybe
couchpotatoathlete says
I just wish we had a hot tub outside! That would be awesome. I use our deck for photos sometimes – it looks way better out there than in my kitchen!
The best thing this weekend was sleeping in and a bbq/picnic we went to yesterday. Burgers/sweet corn/taco dip, it doesn’t get better than that!
Alex @ IEatAsphalt says
It was a beautiful weekend in DC and we had a little blogger potluck. It was so fun to finally meet some people in the area.
Matt says
Have good week!
Bekki says
Have a great week!!
Tabitha (From Single to Married) says
I hear you – I have work projects that already have me stressed and it’s only Monday!
We went to visit the Corcoran Museum in DC – first time to see it after all the years of living here (and I even used to work one block away from it!). It was a nice museum… not my favorite, but worth a visit!
HOpe your week goes well!
Anna says
Y’all have a hot tub?!? Oh man, I’m SO jealous!!!
And, I love high school football games. No shame. 🙂
Jessica @ How Sweet says
Ah! I love that you take pics on the hot tub. I find this to be an excellent excuse to tell my husband that we NEED a hot tub. Don’t you think?
