The Conquering of the Baby Registry

I wish I could claim to be the conquering hero in our baby registry.  But sadly, I can’t even say that I’m the conquering hero in our wedding registry from almost 5 years ago.  See, the problem comes from very little planning, very little question asking, and very little research.

Thank goodness for Emma, her husband David, and my husband’s incredible common sense.  Otherwise Baby D may not have anything to ride in, sleep in, sleep on, or play with for a very long time.  Although if there’s one thing I’ve learned about babies is that they probably require very little, but there’s a LOT of stuff that makes it a LOT easier.  Registry is my case in point.  If we hadn’t had friends there helping us I probably would have sat down in the middle of a random aisle and started crying.

Hey, at least it’s a baby store…I’m sure that’s happened once or twice by both pregnant adult women and children alike.  Don’t judge me.

Car seats, strollers, carriers, transportation systems, umbrella strollers.  Diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, butt paste.  Pack ‘N’ Plays, sheets, boppy, toys, changing table supplies.  Play gym, clothing (OH the clothing!), pajamas, stuff for my boobs.  Pacifiers, monitors, swings, bouncers, rockers.  OHMYGOSH.

‘Twas only 3 hours later that I walked out with a bag of goodies, a printed copy of our registry, and a million little reminders I had scribbled all over our list that I realized how tiring shopping can be.  I think it might be a good way for me to learn how to function properly in society on very little sleep.  All I have to say is thank goodness for our new mattress and a hubby that can make a mean grilled cheese 🙂

I have only been to babies r us once and i will be happy if i can keep away as much as possible, i am doing the online thing as much as i can.

Oh dear, that long list of items made me tired just from reading it.

Yes…you will be amazing at how much stuff you will use when the baby is born. I read the list and laughed out loud when I saw “stuff for my boobs”! You are so funny, Heather! 😉

Cute! 🙂 I would imagine it’s so much more overwhelming then a wedding registry!
