Smoked Salmon Tacos

It’s official.  I have literally had the absolute best salmon of my entire life.  Like I could totally eat hundreds of pounds of the stuff and not even think twice about it!

It’s all about the smoke by the way.  We kind of have this absurd obsession with our smoker this summer – pork ribs, cheese (SMOKEDCHEESEWILLMAKEYOURENTIRELIFE), and the amazing salmon that I’ve been getting from the incredible folks at Copper River.  But you know what?  Don’t have a smoker?  Here’s a great way to get the same flavor in your oven!

I think the best thing about these tacos is the fact that the smoke flavor mixes perfectly with my favorite taco seasoning.  You slather the seasoning on, smoke the fish for a little bit and then reap the benefits of buttery incredible goodness.  Top your tacos with a little cheese, lettuce, grilled corn, avocado and salsa and you have a meal that you really can’t beat.

Promises!

PERFECTLY SMOKED SALMON

  • 1 3-lb Sockeye salmon filet
  • 1/4 cup taco seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

Follow these instructions for smoking meat in an oven, except set the oven to 175.  To prep the salmon rub it with olive oil and massage the seasoning into the flesh.  Smoke at 175 for 90 minutes.  DEVOUR.

Yum! We love salmon, and try to eat it once a week. The other night we grilled it on cedar planks, and it was amazing! I know how delicious this smoked salmon will taste!

I haven’t had smoked salmon tacos, but I’ve been eating bbq’d salmon tacos for the last 3 weeks. 🙂 So good!
