Currently I’m at the Allume Conference with Great Day Farms and am having a blast. Y’all, did you know that Greenville, South Carolina is absolutely ADORABLE and probably the most charming place I’ve been in a while? Seriously, such a gorgeous downtown, the cutest shops, and super kind people. A couple of my favorite places I visited yesterday: Coffee Underground, Falls Park, Chocolate Moose Bakery (cookies & cream cupcake – YES), Charleston Cooks! (I got a marble salt dish & a marble mortar and pestle for $11!), and Blue Ridge Brewing Company (no beer for me, but the Low Country Shrimp & Grits were life-changing). I can’t wait to explore more today!
I was super nervous about coming because guess what? I don’t actually know anyone here (although I’ve since made some sweet friends). I didn’t travel with anyone; I just showed up on the doorstep of the Hyatt Regency like a lost puppy. If you know me at all, you know that this is one of my biggest fears but I’m convinced that God is going to do something huge this weekend. I don’t know what, I don’t know how, and I don’t know exactly what ‘huge’ means…but He’s here, and that’s big enough for me.
Random: last week when I was traveling back from Cleveland (recap coming soon!) I had a pocket knife confiscated at security. I didn’t even know I had one in my bag…I think Arkansas is changing me 🙂 Admittedly I like it, though, and I put a new one in my purse when I got home. You never know when you’ll need it!
When I was pregnant with Wes I refused to drink anything caffeinated the entire 41-1/2 weeks he was living in me. This time around I’ve found that a teeny cup (think 4-5 ounces) of coffee is the only thing that’s really helping me feel OK in the morning. I feel kind of guilty, but if a little coffee helps me eat better and drink more water throughout the rest of the day, I’ll take it.
I need a haircut in a bad way.
One of my sweet friends is 2 days behind me in her pregnancy, but was lucky enough to find out what she’s having yesterday. I couldn’t be more excited for her but I’m jealous/anxious/excited to find out what we’re having now too!
Another friend loaned me a book of poems by William Wordsworth. I’ve never been a huge poetry person, but I was the crazy pregnant lady in tears on all my flights yesterday just devouring that book! Thanks Mandi 🙂
Another book I’m loving right now (I Instagrammed it a couple weeks ago) is Thrive by Arianna Huffington. I fully believe in what it’s about, but I pray every time I open it that God’s truth will be shown in it more than what I want to hear or read. And you know what? He’s faithful in that.
OK, I think that brain dump is complete, although I’m sure I’ll think of something later. Much love y’all!

You are the cutest! I love seeing that smile!
For someone who doesn’t like to travel alone, I remember your San Diego trip was all by your lonesome, too. I think you’re better at it than you think 🙂
I requested Thrive through my library a few weeks ago, but it’s taking forever!
And I’m so jealous of anyone who knows the sex of their baby. And I’m also super jealous of anyone that has more than one girl. I met a girl this weekend that has 2 girls, and I almost teared up.
And caffeine? Yeah, I shunned it a while ago. But lately, a fresh cup of chai made with a scoop of black tea is the ONLY thing that gets me going in the morning. If I don’t drink it, I end up going back to bed until 11. Pathetic! I think your tiny cup of coffee sounds very necessary. Plus, where is baby going to get his/her taste for coffee without you? 😉

Enjoy Greenville! I’ve never been but have heard great things about it. That cookies & cream cupcake sounds divine.
p.s. Random question, but is it weird (or am I the only one?) that I can’t see any of the comments on your blog posts?
Heather says
Nope, it’s not just you…I’m trying to figure out the fix that’s causing the problem with my theme. I can see the comments though!

Oh girl, you shouldn’t feel guilty about the coffee. My doctor even encouraged me to have a cup or two of regular coffee a day if it made me feel better and helped ward off headaches. 🙂
Heather says
That makes me feel so much better! I try not to do too much because otherwise I get jittery, but it’s helped so much!

I have a friend that moved to Greenville in August 2013 from SF. She’s had major culture shock but I really want to visit her before she moves back in a year and a half. All the pictures she posts look really cute. Have a god time at your confrence.
Heather says
It’s so seriously cute – you should definitely visit if you can!
