I’m not going to lie you guys – I’m tired. Even though the dude has been sleeping better at night and even though I’ve been more responsible with my bedtime I still find myself pretty exhausted by the end of the day. Now I blame this on a few things: one, being a mom. HOLY GOODNESS that wears me out, and in the best ways possible! I’ll never get over the blessing that it is being Wes’ mommy but there’s a reason why they say 2-year-old boys have a lot of energy. It’s ’cause they do.
Two, there is an absurd amount pollen all over my world these days. Even with Spring rainstorms, which realistically only cause rivers of yellow all over our yard, that pollen is wreaking havoc on my allergies.
Three, laundry because it is NEVERENDING YOU GUYS. I can’t even talk about it without an anxiety attack…
Now I don’t know about you, but when I feel exhausted the only thing I really want to do is grab a pint of ice cream and some pizza and sit on my tail and watch movies. However, because of said energetic 2-year-old that’s just not an option, so I’ve learned to make a smoothie we can both sit back and enjoy for a few moments when mommy just needs a break.
I’m not the biggest fan of bananas sometimes, so if you’re like me you can certainly use a combination of frozen avocado (cut into reeeeeally small chunks for better blending) and ice. Wes loves bananas and as long as they’re in this smoothie I’m usually good to go. It’s smooth and creamy, and I love the flavor of the almond butter. Makes it feel a little fancy without having to go all out!
Y’all enjoy!
BLUEBERRY BANANA ALMOND BUTTER SMOOTHIE
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves
- 1 tablespoon creamy almond butter
Blend all ingredients until smooth! Enjoy!
I hope your breaks with smoothie and son are lovely. This receipe reminds me of peanut butter sandwiches, for some reason!
