A Little Place Called Aspen

Two weekends ago my amazing husband surprised me with a little trip to Glenwood Springs and Aspen.

He’s incredible.  It’s true.

While we were in Glenwood Springs we spent time at the hot springs pool (stinky, warm, comforting, and WAY too expensive), ate dinner at a great little Italian place, and watched Lord of the Rings (that’s how we know he really loves me).  It was so fun and relaxing!

The next day we drove to Aspen, about 40 miles away.  The town itself was nice; I kept trying to find where they filmed Dumb and Dumber and therefore may have been distracted.

Oops.

But as soon as we got outside of town it was – SURPRISE! – nothing but tons and tons of aspen trees!  Absolutely stunning.  We even saw a bear!

The pups were with us, but alas I was too scared of another bear siting and they weren’t allowed out of the car.  That’s what fur-mamas do.  That and taking pictures of them with crazy looks on their faces.  Makes things interesting 😉

Thank you sweetie for being the best husband in the entire world, for loving me so well through the hard times and celebrating the great times with me.  I love you!

we actually have a full range of Nikon lenses and camera bodies; however, this particular shot was with a Nikon D300 body and the Nikon 1.8 50mm prime lens 🙂
