A few weeks ago I received a copy of Grace’s Sweet Life to review, and I have to say that I am SO glad to have it! Honestly it’s one of the coolest cookbooks I’ve seen, completely dedicated to homemade Italian desserts. Besides the fact that the entire book is filled with incredible, delectable sweet treats, Grace‘s story is incredibly inspiring.
She was born in Belgium, grew up in Ontario (where she now lives) and started her beautiful website in 2010 after overcoming an injury that kept her from returning to work and suddenly losing her husband. The fact that she works with her children on her blog is so fun!
There are tons of beautiful and authentic recipes in this book, but I couldn’t help myself when I saw the Pesche al Forno con Ripieno D’Amaretti e Noce (Baked Peaches with Amaretti and Walnut Filling). Anything that utilizes fresh peaches and has amaretti cookies in it (not to mention chocolate, rum and coffee) basically has my name allllllllllll over it!
I made these for girls’ night with some beautiful friends and they were absolute perfection!
Besides the fact that I love Grace’s blog, I have to say that I love her book even more!
I need to pick up this book for my dad! He was a baker for years (in Italy & NY), I used to love visiting him at the pastry shop! Those peaches look incredible!
