Life is Changing

And I’m having to make grown-up decisions these days.  Wah.

Besides the whole giving-up-my-uterus-for-the-baby thing, we also did something else the other night:  we traded in my beloved Rolly (pronounced Ro-lee) for a newer more family-friendly car.  If you’ve been reading for a while you know that my car is kind of my baby and I totally cried when she hit 100,000 miles.  Add about a bajillion more hormones to this body and brain of mine and the fact that she’s no longer hanging out in our garage and, well, waterworks.

And I made Nate take a picture of me with her before we drove off the lot in the newbie.  Who cares if people were watching?

Anyway, it’s one of those things that I knew we needed to do to help prepare for the baby…even though I didn’t want to get rid of my car I knew we needed to make the change.  And I guess that’s what being a grown-up is all about…making choices despite what you want to happen.

But it sure was a lot of fun being a care-free 20-something 🙂

WOW – that is a big step we have a wagon and then another two door car – the two door car will have to be upgraded but i am not ready for it yet. Want to see if i can handle a car seat in the two door – if it gets too hard we will upgrade. You look fabulous.

Aahhh…I remember this feeling well! I don’t have a name for my current car, but I do have a name for the navigation system! I named her Destiny, and my children sometimes laugh (or roll their eyes) when she speaks the directions and I say “thank you, Destiny”! 😉 You are so adorable in the photo, Heather. Really, you are just glowing!

aw, I will definitely cry when my baby reaches 100K, she’s pretty close right now 🙁 I’m sure you’ll love the convenience of a bigger car soon enough!

Something tells me you’ll be glad to have the bigger car once the baby gets here 🙂

We had to get rid of my car earlier in the pregnancy too. Now we have a much more family friendly car and I love it 🙂

Phew, I’m glad someone else names their cars. I miss my carefree in my 20s car, a VW Beetle fondly named Betsie. She was a good car even though the sunroof would randomly open by itself.

I cried when I got rid of my first car! Even though I was excited for the new, more adult one it was till sad with all memories!

Getting rid of my Corolla broke my heart too! Even though I definitely upgraded, I miss it’s simplicity (and the gas mileage)! 🙂
