Let's face it: this photo has nothing to do with this post. I just kind of like my particular brand of dorkiness!
22 weeks.
22 weeks of guessing and thinking and praying and crying and having some of the craziest dreams known to man.
Ah yes the dreams. No one ever told me the vivid craziness that would ensue at night when I closed my eyes and the wacky, completely bizarre stories that I would awaken my husband with.
There’s the dream that I had about walking on the beach in Hawaii only to find out that I was being followed by mobsters. They threatened my family and so I got in their faces and scared them away. Clearly mobsters have nothing on a 28-year-old girl from Texas walking on a beach in Hawaii. Perfect sense.
Or how about the times that I’ve dreamed about miscarrying? The vividness of the blood and the realness of the emotions being felt – those are not favorites. Those make me wake up crying and cause me to worry all day long. If I could kick dreams in the crotch those would be the dreams that get it.
Let’s see…there’s the dream that I had just a few nights ago where I dreamed within the dream (WHOA now Inception) that I miscarried and then woke up in the dream only to feel our little guy give a big solid kick for the first time. The second part made for a very VERY happy dream and a very snuggly mama when I woke up in real life.
My favorite though – and this is embarrassing but completely hilarious – is the dream that I had where Nate and I were shooting a wedding and I kept uncontrollably farting LOUD in the middle of the vows portion of the ceremony. Just thinking of it now is making me shake with laughter…too bad no one else in the dream was nearly as amused as I was!
The dreams – I know that every night I go to bed I will wake up somewhat entertained by the things going on in my sleep! What about you? What’s the craziest dream, pregnant or not, that you’ve ever had? I need someone to make me feel not as alone in the farting dream world…
Haha! This post cracks me up! My pregnant dreams were usually involving a male celebrity that wanted to hook up with me. Not the cute types though. One was Kelsey Grammar a la Fraiser/curly mullet, and the other was Howie Mandel with his nasty facial hair and earring! Ewwww
Oh my, the pregnancy dreams! I had a dream that my baby was half baby/half puppy and then one later on in my pregnancy that my baby was half baby/half kitten and that I was breastfeeding it! And I was so upset because I was a little freaked out that my baby was half cat. So strange! I also remember worrying about the baby because maybe I didn’t feel him kick alot that day. I would fall asleep with my hands on my belly just waiting for him to move and give me peace of mind. And I would then be jolted awake by a strong kick right at my hand. You will never forget these moments!
enjoy those crazy dreams while you can – it means you are still sleeping! you arent too far from not being able to get comfy & sleep thru the night. hate to bear the bad news. but it just means you get to take more naps during the day 🙂
I remember those dreams, they are still vivid in my mind after 9+ years. I hope they get better for you.
Pregnancy dreams are the wildest dreams ever! I don’t remember one that really stands out, but I remember they were very real and very vivid- crazy, huh? I guess it’s the hormones!
Hilarious! I totally forgot about the vivid dreams- definitely had them while pregnant with Riley and nearly EVERY NIGHT!
Pregnant dreams are CRAZY! The farting one is so something I would dream too.
When I was first pregnant (13.5 years ago!!!), I had a dream that I watched the hubs take off for a trip. Except he was flying in a beat up old white van. And then it blew up. I woke up hyperventilating & hysterical. =( I still wonder why he was flying away in a van….
I know what you mean…the dreams are so vivid too… Congrats so excited for you!!
My first crazy crazy pregger dream was that I was having a lake trip with co-workers and had an affair with the guy who sits in the desk next to mine…..my husband showed up at the lake and so we acted like nothing happened….PETRIFYING.
The worst part was going to work the next day and seeing the co-worker sitting next to me all day!
Our body chemistry definitely can affect our dreams. When my husband was going through chemotherapy he had intensely real-feeling dreams. One night he dreamed about being a vampire and when he woke up he had to convince himself that he was just a normal guy by going through lists of dates and facts about his life in his head!
Love dreams! Man, that one of you guys shooting a wedding sounds high-larious! even to me! 🙂
