HOW FAR ALONG ARE YOU? 15 weeks and 1 day! The baby is roughly the size of an apple 🙂
GENERALLY FEELING: Definitely more energy and I’m starting to find some relief occasionally from the nausea, but nights are still hard. The nausea sets in right after dinner, right before we put Wes down, and lasts basically until I go to bed.
SHOWING? Yep! Not a ton, but enough to need some maternity clothes and make people wonder if there’s something going on. So, you know, basically at the fluffy stage right now 🙂
CRAVINGS? I have really been craving family favorite meals from my childhood. Last week I made my favorite meatloaf, a favorite soup recipe (twice!) and last night I made a chicken and broccoli casserole. Luckily my parents always had us eating fairly healthy fare, so despite the fact that veggies still sound gross I’ve been consuming a lot more of them. Win!
WEIGHT GAIN: Still not tracking it, but according to all of the weekly updates I’ve read I’ve “likely” gained 5 pounds by now. Who knows though?
FEARS: Lately I’ve been wondering how in the world I’m going to love another child as much as I love Wes. I know (because I’ve been told) that it just happens – your heart just expands – but I just look at that boy and tear up with joy. That’s not to say I don’t love this baby, because I do with all my heart. It’s just different when you can look into those great big shiny toddler eyes and see all of the love that radiates from them.
LOOKING FORWARD TO: MEETING this sweet babe! As scared as I am I can’t help but read birth stories and look at pictures of new babies and dream about what he or she will look like. I can’t wait to find out what we’re having and start figuring out names. I can’t wait to share that news with our families, and I can’t wait to see the moment that it “clicks” for Wes that he’s going to be a big brother. Right now I keep telling him there’s a baby in mommy’s tummy and he will say, “BABY.” and then run off and stack blocks or sing his ABCs. Not sure he gets it just yet 🙂
WHAT I’VE BEEN LOVING: I’ve really loved being able to share more with you guys! For so long I was fading away into feeling like crap all the time, but sharing this joy with y’all has made me feel a lot better.
SLEEP: Sleep is getting better-ish, but I’m working on drinking less water around bedtime which has helped. Two nights ago a massive storm blew in with thunder and lightning and hail around 3am, and it took Nate and I both almost 2 hours to finally fall back asleep. I think we’re both still recovering!
MATERNITY CLOTHES: I took a few hours on Sunday to go maternity clothes shopping! Last time around I borrowed a lot of my clothes, and a lot of them don’t fit (not a bad problem I suppose) anymore, so I was in desperate need of some basics. I asked on Facebook and heard some really great things about Gap, so I went and checked it out. I’m so glad I did! When I was pregnant with Wes I got a pair of their jeans and was really disappointed, but I think they’ve really stepped up the maternity wear game. I ended up with a great pair of jeans and two simple T’s from Gap and a pair of leggings and a long-sleeved T from Target. I think those few things should really get me through most of my pregnancy, plus maybe a few other tops. I’m not looking to get a whole new wardrobe, but some good basics that will work well for the next few months and then the fluffy/saggy period after the baby comes.
BOY OR GIRL? Still no clue, but I’ve had an equal number of people guessing either way. 5 more weeks til we find out, and I’m beyond excited!

I laughed out loud at the “fluffy stage” thing because that’s totally a thing and I’m right there with ya’, sister! OK please share your tips & tricks on how to have more energy though. Yikes, a few days a week I’m still taking a nap when my son does.

Oh girl…no secret, just the grace of God. I still take naps when Wes does 3-4 times a week – but this baby-growing business is hard work!

Awww, I love these updates! 🙂
PS did you try Old Navy for maternity clothes? Not every store has them, just the bigger ones. I’ve had a lot of friends find good stuff there 😉

I have! Ours has a reeeeeeally limited selection though – but there’s a dress I have from there that I’ve worn about a billion times!
